Gear Changing Class Changing

I feel like we should be able to change gear mid fight as long as we are not changing classes mid fight, with no cooldowns.

E.g. as a Warrior I want to use DPS gear for the parts where I am not tanking and then hit a gear set to switch to my tank gear as I'm about to pick up an add or a boss.

I also feel that when we are a full premade, we should be able to change classes mid dungeon. Often times my friends and I que up and we want to do half the dungeon as tank and 3 dps, then have the 3rd dps switch back to heals. Or I might que on my Warrior and want to switch to paladin, etc. At the least we should be able to switch from Class A of Role 1 to Class B of Role 1. EG Warrior to Paladin, SCH to WHM, DRG to BLM, etc.

Heh no. I'm quite happy to see the days of invisible tanks due to gear swap macro spam end. Class swapping mid battle would suck because of the cool down after changing so it isn't like you could quick swap to WHM to cure the tank and go back to BLM. Before anyone says it...they would not ever reduce or eliminate that cool down either. You wouldn't see many full time healers that way. Everyone would be expected to have certain jobs leveled solely for hot swapping.

Not Final Fantasy 11, Specifically Made to NOT be final Fantasy 11, Was quite the Dumbest thing I seen in Final Fantasy 11.

Because taking off your armour in the middle of a fight and swapping into something more comfortable totally makes sense.

Swapping within role when out of combat, I could see (SCH<>WHM, PLD<>WAR, all the DDs) with all the attendant cooldowns, but gear mid battle?
