Buff/DeBuff Hotfix making it hard for Healers!

So I understand that people wanted their buffs to show at the left in FATEs so they could enjoy the fact their aoe spamming was working on the boss.. That's fine, if the green numbers weren't enough for you. /endsarcasm

The problem is now that in the party list which only has 5 buffs/debuffs ALL beneficial effects now go to the left and anything extra added pushes debuffs off the partylist so a party member can have a status effect i know nothing about.

This has happened a couple of times to me now that a player has buffed themselves and along with my protect and adloquium and debuffs don't even show on the mini list anymore.

Huh? I've been healing in big groups and I haven't noticed anything critical being invisible.

it's happened quite a few times now.. first noticed it in WP.. when the slimes heavy the person they are chasing if you dont down them in time.. i could see my party member was heavied but it wasnt on the list they were all buffs

Goofy is what I do.. and I just got out of a FATE party *face palm* soul destroying stuff.. lol

I have noticed this as well, I was in a group fighting chimera and a few of the players in my party were paralyzed. The status effect was not showing up on the party list, It wasn't until I clicked on them and checked there status bar that I found out!

Can't argue that all debuffs from yourself on the left of the mob is less useful than just green text.
That hotfix was a Godsend for SMNs and MNKs!

I'm sure we could have a toggle or something to swap between the two modes.
Not seeing negative status effects sounds like a game-breaker.

The whole buff/debuff display on both party and target are absolutely horrible in this game. I can't wait for addons so I (pleeeease hopefully) can customize it to see what I want to see, filter out the crap, and recover some of my screen's real estate.

I MUCH prefer a minimalist UI ♥

I've hidden everything I can for now but it's not enough. The bars are way too big, the icons are too big, I can't stack my HP/MP/TP etc.

But I don't see a reason to blame fate grinders for any change, the change was beneficial for a lot of players. Who cares about fates? And green #s alone are a problem for colorblind players. They exist!

To make the UI smaller or bigger you can Hold CTRL and Press HOME, this will cycle through 3 preset sizes for the ui element you last clicked on.

So if you want to make the journal smaller you would open it then click on it and finally hold CTRL and press HOME a couple of times to make it smaller, and do this with every UI element you want to shrink, some UI elements need to be changed when you are in the UI layout mode though.

This also works on the ps3 if you have a keyboard plugged in too.

so remember Click on the UI element you want to change the size of then Press HOME while holding CTRL.

edit: i wish there was a colourblind mode too, but -shrugs- i will have to make do until they eventually add one.

What aspect of this game doesn't make the healers job harder?

Honestly though, that sucks. This is going to be annoying as keep an eye on the status in the group list. Not enough time to hunt status bars of the players to find debuffs.
