Aren't the more experienced people teach people how to do it or at least give pointers I know I am not perfect and I am a casual player been playing since beta took me some time to get to 50 cause But yes I do try to upgrade my gear but don't see the point sitting 3 hours to do one run on early runs and I think ak is really a early run cause I have done it it wasn't that hard just need pay attention

In CM, I'm pleased to run with a new tank. They don't presume to know everything and I like passing on the help I received from other tanks when I was new. One run the other tank said he was new to it, and as I was welcoming him two dpsers immediately dropped. Good riddance, and they were almost immediately replaced. It was one of the smoothest runs ever, only slowed slightly as I stopped a couple times to explain upcoming mechanics. But of course, that's CM, a pretty simple run.

Hmm...when did I say it is not possible? You need to read what I said, I said it is possible, but it just not quite as efficient if everyone is in Artifact doing WP and AK.

Way a put word in my mouth and call me an Elitism. I never speed run anything and oppose of speed run. I guess everything is Elitism this day.


Just run CM, you don't need DL gear for that. Only Artifact. Only WP and AK need Dark Light, but even Artifact is possible, but it just take really long and not as efficient.

If it's possible to do them without darklight, then darklight is not needed. You're contradicting yourself.

Of course it's not as efficient without darklight. No leveling/gear up dungeons are. I can run totorak in darklight or in level 15 gear, darklight is not needed. Darklight will be more efficient though.

OP won't be getting into a SR without it but that's not her complaint. Her complaint is that the weirdos in DF CM are griping. They either want a super fast run and are too undergeared or bad to make one on their server (hypocrites), or they want to be carried.

I haven't had anyone drop due to party members in random CMs wearing whatever gear. Heck I see people wearing crafting gear, gear with stats that make no sense (healers in parry accessories, probably SBing), etc. and we still had no issues. If a DPS can get on a cannon, that's all that really matters in CM ♥

Many FFXIV tanks are scaredy-cats and for whatever reason don't want to tank something challenging.

If they leave a dungeon because a party member doesn't have all endgame gear and relic, they fail as tank, because they obviously are too weak to survive the additional 30 seconds the boss fight takes. Nobody using dungeon finder should complain about other players gear if it's not far below the character level.
And the starter lvl50 dungeons can all be done with AF gear and suitable jewelry and weapon.

If you want speed runs, go with your FC and don't waste the time of players who want to advance.

Btw, this is not only a matter of lvl50 dungeons. I've been in a number of groups around lvl30 which had to abandon a dungeon because the drama queen tank left and none would join.

It should be more about your gear quality being appropriate enough for the content. I queue up DF Titan and see people wearing AFs and ilevel 40~50 gears, they are pretty much setting themselves up to fail because you won't have enough survivability to last the P5 stomps. I'm actually glad SE will be implementing ilevel checks in certain DFs to settle this once and for all.

BTW you don't need any DL piece for CM/Prae/WP/AK, but you need to be a competent player and learn things quickly because the margin of error with lesser ilvl gear is smaller. Also have some decency and make sure you're wearing at least high level 40 gears on all slot. They are mostly under 5K on the market board and it will take time to replace them anyway.

WP drops ilevel 55 gear, and AK drops Ilvl 60. You don't need i70 gear to beat any of the place that was tuned to gear up people with i40~i55 gear. But bad players with moderate gear leave a bad impression for the other "under-geared" with their slow dps and wipes on Flan/Wall boss.

People asking for DL gear for WP/AK want to clear things faster, and there's nothing wrong with that. But people claiming you need some i70 to clear AK regardless of speed is taking the piss. Do you need i90 gear to start coil?

On the flip side of that coin, it's hilarious how many dps and even the occasional healer would bail on WP when I showed up on my warrior with AF gear and Garuda's Scream. The whole mindset of "must have Dark Light and Relic" to run CM, Prat, and WP is rediculous. While AK is doable, a few WP upgrades and/or Darklight upgrades makes the run smoother.

I think this thread is a symptom of duty finder. People only thinking of themselves on both parts. Let me try to explain.

Instances are designed for groups of players. Duty Finder was designed because there were people who wanted to do group combat because it was profitable,but they didn't want to belong to a group. This is true of the people needing the darklight gear for the run a well as the new 50s who want to group in their fresh 50 gear.

The new 50s want to be break into all the new and exciting content at 50 and explore. The veteran DF people have been doing this for weeks at least, the same content over and over. They have run all of the instances about 20 times. They jsut want ot get in and out and get their Tombs so they can get the prized DL gear. Then you have these same people learn about "A Relic Reborn" and they figure they can DF their way though that as well, but you can't, Titan will smash your face if you aren't stopped by AK or Garuda. Then of course there's the non DF instances like chimera and hydra but I digress.

DF is a shortcut for people who don't want to be part of a team but want the rewards that a team can provide. These people are going to manage their adhoc teams in such a way that will be most profitable since this is the general goal of all of these people, myself included IF i decide to use DF. If you want to make friends, DF is probably not the place to go.

No one think you need DL for ak/wp, you can do both naked with a weapon/jewels
some people just prefer to do it faster, and we make our own group to do it. We are allowed to have preferences when we make our own party in /sh
