My brother and I tend our shop outside Ul'dah's Gate of Nald, withering away in the hot morning sun. The adventurers pass us by as if we had nothing at all for sale, just like every day, and the city leaves us to rot in the face of larger political agendas. The sultana feigns empathy for our plight, but we see her and the rest for what they are: bourgeois profiteers who have never worked an honest day in their collective lives.
