I know the feeling someone did almost the same thing i did and after me as well only thing he didnt do was add the All Saints wake flair that i did in mine.. perhaps I should have kept it stupidly boring

I just want to make it clear that you really shouldn't flame and complain for losing. I was simply making a point about mine. I'm in no way going to quit this game or anything because I lost a silly contest, and I congratulate the guy with the similar entry for winning. Posting consecutively really won't accomplish anything. Its a fun silly contest, don't let that keep you from enjoying the game!Square Enix wasn't out to get you, you just weren't as lucky like many other contestants.
Wow, not a single entry that imitated Halloween NPCs won. Not a single one. That's kind of surprising, really.
I guess I'm a little disappointed.

didnt you notice that anyone who did anything to do with All Saint's Wake basically was excluded it seemed.. Which to me that should have been one of the main criteria for the thing.. To include something in some way towards the spirit of why the contest was being held in the first place
Although I don't think that having anything Halloween themed was a requirement, it's extremely strange to me that the selection of winners includes:
> five Cactuar impersonators
> three Tonberry impersonators
> six Sylph impersonators
and a myriad of people who slapped on their Culinarian, Alchemist, Goldsmith, etc gear which they have, by default, at 50 for all crafters, and these people won but a lot of more creative people, who put together far more complex costumes with much better composition, were excluded. I, personally, did one of the Saint's Wake NPCs and you can accuse me of being salty, but the fact that not a single festive NPC was even included leaves me feeling very bitter as though I was disqualified simply for having chosen that NPC. Had I chosen a Cactuar, I would have, apparently, had a guaranteed win.

Congrats to those CREATIVE winners, well deserved!
To whoever was in charge of this, I'm sorry but you did an extremely poor job. Next time you hold a contest during a holiday please make sure to tell us that dare we dress like a holiday NPC we will be disqualified. Would have saved me a lot of effort had I known I could have just entered as my default weaver gear and had a chance.
tl;dr - maximum salt
I think a lot of people missed the point of the contest. Yes it was inspired by halloween, but the point was to look as much like an npc or monster as possible, and only the top 100 most accurate or unique were going to win. When you have hundreds of people all dressing up like a ghost or GC officer, you can only pick so many.
That being said, I enjoyed seeing everyone's pictures (I'm sorry if you didn't win), and want to congratulate everyone that won!
Keep it up SE!

Oh, don't misunderstand, I'm not advocating for every ghost or pumpkin head or cat lady impersonator to have won, I just find it incredibly strange that not a single one did. I'm fond of my own entry, obviously, so there's some bias, but I saw a few others which were very well-executed and I would have thought them very worthy of a prize. (Even if I didn't win, at least a good competitor might have taken my place. This was my entry.)

I'm actually surprised yours didn't place. I remember it being the closest to the NPC. :/Oh, don't misunderstand, I'm not advocating for every ghost or pumpkin head or cat lady impersonator to have won, I just find it incredibly strange that not a single one did.
