if i don't subscribe now will my info be saved?

I know my FFXI character was deleted after a year or so. But I was only in the 20s and never subbed. Different games, but the precedent is there

This seems incredibly unlikely. Either the support person was trolling you, or you are trolling us.

My FFXI character was still there after having not played it for like 5 years..so yeah.

well one thing I should point out, and if they delete my toon I guess that is fine, I have not subscribed yet at all. I just tried the game for the trial period, I did purchase the game itself online for a download.

I just think there are a lot of issues in the game that need to be worked out, as with all mmos. maybe it is better than others at release, maybe worse, who knows. but I don't really think the game is quite ready for prime time. I think if I came back a year from now it will be a good indication of what the developers are doing in terms of their priorities in getting the game into shape.
