Why are threads getting deleted?

i have been posting on some threads that arent even out of hand or terrible, like the one with players discussing that they want marriage equality in-game..and the mods keep deleting them. why is this?

Because threads like that (marriage equality) usually lead to trouble... and by trouble, I mean people with two very opposing ideologies fighting it out in a thread. The argument about whether it should or shouldn't be allowed doesn't really matter in the end because the ultimate choice is up to SE. I can guarantee that ANY argument that has come up in those threads has been said before... in the real arguments about real people fighting for marriage equality in real life. (Don't get me wrong... I'm all for it, but I know why those threads can get toxic real fast.)

Also, keep in mind that even asking why a thread is deleted (whether it's specific or general) might lead in this thread being locked and/or deleted.

yea i understand how that can happen..although locking/deleting a thread as simple and harmless as a question is not right. its a mere curiosity. i meant no harm and i hope they understand.

I've seen people suspended from the forums for doing less offensive things. Unfortunately, a lot of what people say/do here is left up to interpretation.

The 'marriage equality' issues has been a debate that has been ongoing since the Beta... just in case you were curious. To be honest, I think a lot of people in support of marriage equality are already sick of those threads. XD

ah i see. haha. u have a point there for sure. lol. i guess i got what i wanted when posting the thread. lol. i only posted the tread because there is no actual messaging system. XD
