WP vs AK for TOM

AK drops better gear that you can use to get started on your other classes. Since most people who run already have good gear and pass on a lot of loot you can gear up very quickly that way.

WP is flat-out more interesting than AK, so it's not so much a question of which is more efficient but... which doesn't bore me to tears. Though I'll toss in an AK every so often if I really feel the grind, I suppose.

40 min AK sounds right for a group that isn't decked in relics + DL. It's about 30-32 with relic/+1 parties, and I hear it goes even faster if you do the "sac pull" or training methods.

I find that if using DF you'll likely be more successful with smoother runs in Wanderer's Palace. With GOOD groups AK probably wins for efficiency, but relying on DF to make groups could have you sitting at Demon Wall wasting time rather than burning through the dungeon at a reasonable pace. I prefer WP for Duty Finder runs - it just seems to be more PUG friendly and less prone to rage quitters.

I agree. I think AK is incredibly boring and would always rather do WP. I wish there were Hard Modes of some of the earlier dungeons. I'm so tired of AK ugh.

Being a WHM that has barely gotten past the wall in AK twice I prefer WP myself.

WP - Intended for Fresh 50s. Drops ItemLevel 55 and has Weapons and Shields from Tonberry King's chest (Darklight Weaponry).
AK - Intended for Experienced 50s (with some gear from WP, GC, Ifrit, DL, etc).

Efficiency wise, for every 3 AK you've completed the equivalent of 4 WP in Mythology.
Enjoyment wise, I personally prefer WP (ran it 9 times today, and I was already capped on Mythology).

If you're a fresh lvl50 do some AK normal runs for the gear.

If you're a full AK geared lvl50 you can do rush modes but it could prove hard depending on your class.

If you're a full Darlight geared lvl50 rush WP with a 3 Dps 1 Heal comp.
You pack 2 to 3 mob groups Dps burst them down (best with good geared BLM/BRD/DRG).
I did it like this and was fairly surprised at how fast it is, took us like 15~18 min to finish WP.

But I say go with the dungeon you like the most.

I like AK because of the Demon Wall and WP because of cute tonberys :3
