Considering it's entirely possible to acquire darklight for all classes using just one class, it's entirely possible that the tank used a different class to gear up that class, and fate-grinded it to 50, meaning they learned next to nothing about tanking on the way up and only saw dungeons as gear/slow exp and not a way to teach you how to play (dispite yoshi-p himself saying that the content from 1-50 was in truth one big tutorial)

Sure, it's possible he bought his account, but my first assumption would be that he didn't think he needed to practice tanking on the beginner level dungeons first (which is what I've been dabbling in when I feel like playing Gld or Mrd).

It teaches ppl how to play. The problem is ppl don't see it. They see only exp and big numbers.

Its like everyone just want to reach the end game thinking they can "learn" later.

OP, I haven't read the entire thread and I'm sure someone has already pointed this out, but just incase they haven't.

I see that you're from Masamune, which is a legacy server. Which means you could be playing with a legacy player from 1.0 who already had their gear and job/class leveled at 50. Sounds great doesn't it? Well, a bit of insight from 1.0 player, the jobs changed a lot from 1.0. I personally have to relearn all my jobs that I had leveled at 50, and I'm fully geared, and have all my abilities (barring the ones I have to redo because of the job quest line). So, instead of learning the job as everyone else who is starting at level 1, we are presented with all our abilities and have to make heads or tails about it. It's been a fun mess relearning a capped job. lol

I was using DF. I actually went through redo the class and job quests and solo mobs to get a feel for my Mnk, Pld, War and Blm. Make sure I get to know what is going on, play dungeons as my Sch and observe how players play their jobs before I DF or play with my FC using the said jobs.

FATE spamming all the way to 50 is why people don't know how to play their class properly.

This. I have a friend who FATE grinded to 50 and then proceeded to tank AK. (had already hoarded some gear from previous runs on his main job) It was pretty messy.

This is why I take the time to run a dungeon I'm of level for at least once while I'm doing FATEs so I actually know how to play my job. For me, I feel it's easier to learn your class progressively than to just level it up to 50 pushing one button the whole time and then trying to go back and figure out how everything works together.

This is not always true. I had all level 50's when 1.0 was over. I had to relearn each job myself when 2.0 started.

Same. I'm in the painful process of relearning all my jobs. I've only gotten to the point where I'm comfortable with bard. I dread trying to relearn a close-range dps or healer. I'm semi-competent with paladin now but dear god I can't make heads or tails of warrior yet.
