    And....I'm out. 4 days of trying with nothing from support, not even a canned response! Can't play with friends now on top of everything else, and I thought SOE's service was bad! Left my account active until the end of the month in case they decide to admit they had problems and re-open transfers, but cant see paying anymore with this kind of service.

    SE's customer service is only slightly better than Cryptic/PWE. I have a ticket that's still open... that I filed at the end of August.

    I'm sorry to see you guys are still having the same problems too.

    At the recommendation of my friend I sent a response to the robo-mail explaining that I didn't think the problem was server congestion and that it was more likely to be a problem with the character. This is the response I got at 1:25 AM EST:
    Hello and thank you for contacting the GM team.

    When a Game Master was able to respond to your request, we found that you were unavailable to speak to us. Because of the nature of the situation you are having with world transfers, we recommend you contact our Support Center by visiting http://support.na.square-enix.com, and choose FINAL FANTASY XIV. You can search for possible resolutions in the Knowledge Base, or click on Contact to begin a help request. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 9AM to 6PM Pacific Time, and will work to provide you with the best possible resolution. If this is something tied specifically with your account, they would be able to best help you in this situation. We apologize it is not something we can investigate ourselves but they would be happy to assist you.

    Thank you for your patience, and best wishes to you.

    Not sure why my response got shunted to the GM team cause all they did was point me back to the place I was already asking for help in.

    My friend whom happens to have been a long time XI player insisted that if I was persistent, tech support would eventually come through. I really hope he's right cause this is kind of killing my enthusiasm for this game.

    I've sent another response going over the important details again begging for any kind of real help in this matter. I wish everyone else luck as well.

    Well, I got a couple of emails from customer support this morning:
    Thank you for contacting us for assistance with properly moving characters between worlds on your account. We understand that there are limitations and congestion issues, and this can cause a number of troubles we would like to help you resolve.

    Having reviewed your request and your account, we will be able to assist you with transferring your characters according to your request. However, we would like you to understand and agree to the following restrictions before we process this request: [the restrictions they originally listed with world transfers] If you agree to these restrictions, and have made any corrections to meet them, please respond to this ticket or send a new ticket noting your agreement, and we will begin the world transfer process. This process may take several days to complete from the time you submit your response.

    Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to hearing back from you.
    Final Fantasy XIV Support Team
    and I guess they considered the second support ticket I'd made a couple days earlier an agreement response:
    Thank you for agreeing to the restrictions related to world transfer.

    We have submitted the characters for transfer, although this can take several days to complete. Please be patient with us while the request is processed and we attempt to transfer the characters as you requested.

    So if this works out, than thanks for finally coming through XIV Support. I'll update my post when I see the results.

    I didnt even get as far as some of these posters did. I tried on Sat night, as well as Sun night. I was able to select my destination server, but the current server list didnt even have the server that my toon was on. (I wanted to transfer from Durandel to Gilgamesh) Because of the fiasco during launch, I have multiple characters on many servers(I Just wanted to play and check the game out at some point so I created a toon wherever they would let me) But now that I am on Durandel and level 31 that is the toon I want to keep and transfer. But Durandel was not a server listed in my drop down menu. Maybe I missed something, but the *free* server transfer weekend was BS for me.

    I wish I got an email response like yours OneMech. The one I got was this when I submitted a ticket:

    Thank you for taking the time to report difficulties with the world transfer service. We understand that congestion due to a large number of requests is causing a number of issues for customers, including worlds not appearing for transfer and characters not appearing to be transferred. We are currently investigating these concerns to try to resolve these congestion issues.

    Since these current difficulties are related to congestion of the servers, we recommend trying again at a later time when the world transfer service may not be as congested. The world transfer service will remain free until Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 01:00 AM PDT, and attempting again between these times may allow for a successful use of the service.

    Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues and process all of the requests being made.

    I was getting the same error as Imhugi and after I got this email I assumed that I just had to log in at a different time and do the transfer. Now that I've missed the window, I'm pretty frustrated. I guess I'll submit a ticket again and hopefully get a better response. I really want to play with all my friends on their server.

    *The amount of gil that can be transferred is limited to 3,000,000 per character and 1,000,000 per retainer. Any excess gil will be removed upon transferring.

    This is the response I got from them recently. However, I've personally already remade my character (though with great irritation at the time) and have no need for their help anymore. I feel better that they've taken the time to look it over and actually offer to help though so that's always good.

    I'm posting this here just so people who are/were having an issue can try and get it resolved too. All I did was reply and explain to the auto-response email I got after submitting the problem to the support team. Now, obviously since I don't need the transfer anymore I can't verify if they really will go through with their offer but it's better than nothing.

    Update: Now that the Transfer Service is up and running Customer Support contacted me again with the following:
    Greetings,

    We are contacting you in regards to the World Transfer Service assistance you requested. We are more than happy to help with the transfer request; however there has been a change on the gil limitation.

    The gil that can be moved over is set to 1,000,000 gil per character and 100,000 per retainer. If you have anymore than the amount noted above, the excess gil will be lost after the transfer. Before we can process the world service transfer request, we will need for you to reply to this email whether or not you agree with the changes. Once we receive your reply, we will move forward with moving the characters you requested.

    Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding.
    I've stated that I've agreed to their terms and hope things work out.

    So the two day wait for a response ended up turning into a week long + wait.

    I didn't want to say anything and figured it'd resolve itself since I was facing the problems others were having involving transferring characters but then I finally got a response from Squenix which didn't solve any of my problems at all

    While the free World Transfer Service concluded on October 22nd, a paid version will be available to players at the following time: Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) For further updates on the availability of this service, please go to na.square-enix.com, or the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone forums at forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forum.php
    No shit, I know it concluded on the 22nd but the fact I couldn't transfer a character during that free period and now they expect me to pay, without even saying anything involving "Sorry for the convenience" at least, makes me wonder if they actually read tickets at all. -facepalm-

    I just needed to vent really badly ~_~
