While Dark Devices did give a lot of exp and the exp was very nice it did allow for quick leveling, in fact 42 - 50 took almost 9 hours. But that wasn't because of that FATE, the whole amounts of FATEs in Northern Thanalan spawn rapidly and give around 22k exp, plus each mob in the FATE gave you almost 1k exp.

However I saw it pop 4 - 5 times today while I was leveling my Scholar. Oddly enough no one was there, 4 minutes went by and 2 people came, and began to do the FATE. Even then those two people safe spotted the mobs. The chain finished and only 5 people showed up. When no FATEs where up I saw around 12 people in the area. This may or may not be because of the time it being an EU server and I'm Australian most English people are asleep.

The main I'm trying to make is that one FATE got a lot of people together and it came like a mini raid, people communicated IE "Don't kill lambs!" but people listened and most people didn't do it. The only thing I don't miss is the constant abuse that followed with that FATE. The FATE caused hate and abuse but when you removed it you killed an entire area. No one is in this area now, much like Mor Dhona it's dead; People may be in dungeons but theirs no way in hell I'm doing dungeons on my DPS characters.
In all my time I have never seen Go, Go, Gorgimera not be completed.


I only want to play with others Square-Enix, making parties and tackling FATEs allowed for some great friendships to start, is the start of a trend? all high level areas are becoming dead. First it was Mor Dhona, now it's Northern Thanalan. What's next? Coerthas?

Please, I want to make a party and tackle FATEs! Dungeons queue timer is far to long.
The con's of nerfing this FATE are greater than the pro's.

I really don't think this is just because people can't get half a level in 20 minutes anymore.

It's because everyone has already leveled the 2-3 jobs they wanted to 50 and there's no longer any point to doing FATEs all day long. The game was made so everyone could blow through all the non-endgame content within a month, now everyone has and so that content is a ghost town.

Go duty finder -> find dungeon -> find people. I don't see the problem. I get on at 2:30 am and this is what I do. Though sometimes they speak another language. Which is fine for them and for me. We figure out other ways of communicating.

None of which, by the way, is DONT KILL LAMBS OR WE MURDER YOUR MOTHER AND NON-CONSENSUALLY HAVE RELATIONS WITH YOUR CAT.

Its the opposite. Annoying people thinking they are entitled to the full duration of the FATE to grind the waves of mobs and making sure everyone knew exactly who was killing lambs ahead of time.

Shame on all those annoyances and good riddance with this fix!

Pretty sure it's just your play time. The DD chain still gives ~80k exp. There's no reason to skip it.

The good news is that it got rid of the jerks who were spiritbonding gear off of exp mobs. Take that junk to CM and AK where it belongs.

Until people learn that it is against TOS to be abusive to fellow players for any reason... even for using the content the way it was designed to be used, unfortunately content that is a magnet for abuse will likely be changed to accommodate a more civil play environment. Go figure, when it probably takes more effort and time to be verbally abusive than it does to communicate the same message politely.
