    I thought they didn't have a real form and inhabited humans. Could be wrong though.

    They don't do what they do because they're evil, they do what they do because they are essentially another tribe looking to resurrect their God--Zodiark (which, incidentally, means destroying the Mother Crystal). The problem with that, is that Hydaelyn is constantly foiling them.
