So i haven't been able to catch the Live Letters lately so I'm a little behind on this which is fine. No posts have said anything what I'm looking for but maybe you can help.
With Patch 2.1 "in the works" I have come to the following questions that could make or break the game for many i suppose so here are those questions first:
-Patch 2.1, will there be a level cap increase?
-if there is, will there be new abilities for your character to gain by leveling? Or will it just be a grind like it is now?
-Armory chest, someone mentioned there will be a fix to be able to store anything in your inn until Personal housing is released. Can this be confirmed? I know we have the retainer, but i prefer to keep them clean of stuff i plan to keep, and only leave them with stuff I intend on selling/giving away.
Gil:
-I seen money drops in dungeons now for trash mobs. It pays for the repair bill, thats pretty much it. Why not add a ranking system on how well you did at the end of each dungeon, give players a said amount, then add a lottery? add an extra coffer and have it be tin pieces or something that we have to roll on. An Extra 2.5k for clearing a dungeon? Yes please!
Marketplace:
We did an experiment on Friday Night/Saturday morning regarding the marketplace and how people do not know how to build the economy on our server.
-We bought out all the Halloween cookies, and a bunch of materia that was low enough where we could make a profit regardless and started to recreate the market place.
-For the cookies we were just being ridiculous and posting 8 cookies for 800K. Sounds dumb right? Wait, we are trying to make a demand for them, since a lot of people aren't participating in the event (most are saying its a waste of time)
-We then posted Materia III on the Market Place, setting the starting price of 22K per piece. Prior, it was 30g, 100g, 110g and so on. Spiritbonding can be tedious at higher levels now that repair bills seem to have gone up after the last patch. Armor is not lasting like it used to, and now it takes 4 runs of CM to SB instead of 2 and 1/2
Results for Marketplace:
Halloween cookies went from 800K to a whopping 1g per cookie in the matter of 2 hours. Again, I know the cookie isn't worth anything really, but instead of making a market for them, they crashed that item in 2 measly hours!
Now, Materia III. We bought all the lower priced Materia until we were at a comfortable starting point. in 5 hours of them being on the marketboard, all 11 of them sold at 22K a piece. The next higher up was 35k, which i posted as a baseline for the end. upon waking up on Saturday, 13 new posts were under My Materia selling at 11k, 8k, 6k, and 5.7k. I was undercut massively (don't care, its all just an experiment.)
Conclusion: Gil would not be an issue in this game, if people knew how to use a marketplace. You can make about 300-400K in the storyline if you grab the money bags from the quests. Most gear is +1 better and doesn't make a difference, so I just took the money 95% of the time. after the storyline its Leves, or marketplace. Both fairly simple but after doing this I have to say that if something isnt done to stop people from killing the economy, high level crafting materials will cost nothing making the whole "get your crafters up to 50! Make good gear and socket the hell outta them! and sell!" for nothing.
I've been watching the Vanya set on Ragnarok decrease over the last few days. its gone from 2.2mil for the robe NQ and 3.5mil for HQ to 330K NQ robe and 550 HQ Robe.
