Gearing up another job will take about equally long as it took for you to gear up your first job. You just can't do it at the same time. In the end in weeks, months or years from now, you can indeed have multiple jobs on the same character, all well geared.
Or you can do like many of us are doing and take your damn time. SE has always done "Release the content with temporarily time locks" in FFXI and most of us knew the same would happen in XIV. After a while it'll probably take maybe a week to get full Tome Gear for one class. But right now while it's new they have time locks to keep you from blowing through the content way too fast.
