The higher monthly fee for the Standard subscription instead of Entry is the extra fee.
You only get 1 character per realm and a total of 8 realms for entry.
Do take note that you can create 8 characters per server but you cannot send items between them or adding them to your friend list (which is totally stupid move from them). So technically each one of your character is isolated and unable to interact with the other 7 at all.... I mean, even FFXI let you have mules and send your rare/ex gears (at least some gears) between them. WoW also let you add your alts to your friend list and you can send items between them. I seriously think they are trolling us hard with this options... why bother creating 8 per servers at all - might as well change their promotions and tell us up front, DONT BOTHER leveling other jobs in one character and focus on ONE job per character.
Here's how to get around weekly caps.....make a new character. Don't bother leveling other jobs on your 'main' unless getting cross skills.
Game is promoted as allowing one char to do it all but that is a LIE due to the mythology cap.
So essentially make 'alts' like other games so you can get around that.
If you need to shuffle items/gil around well....that's what a FC or friends is for, right?
Anyways, they need to make it so if you switch jobs....other jobs on a single char gets it's own myth cap/gear that cannot be used by the others...a simple fix?

It seems like the concept that people that do want to be the best in multiple jobs are going to be putting MUCH more time if they want to achieve that is flying over your head. So how is it complaining that people are willing to put in extra time and effort? We aren't asking to be given gear, we're asking for the opportunity to do it on a single character since we can already circumvent coil lockouts/myth caps with alts characters and putting in work to do it.
Play the argument, not the man. Just because you think something else he said was stupid, doesn't mean you have to rule out any thing else that he says.
this thread just smells of entitlement issues
How do you figure? There may be additional time required to gear up other jobs fully, but one character can still do it all.
I like the way it is. It encourages people to specialize in a job they like and are good at, rather than gearing up every job right away and sucking on them.
Here's the problem. This game has the most limited end game I have seen in a long time, even f2p MMOs have better and that is SAD. So the main argument people come up with is....hey, level/gear up other jobs wise guy! QQ MOAR!How do you figure? There may be additional time required to gear up other jobs fully, but one character can still do it all.

Well at 38 weeks per to gear just one job on a 'main', then it's better to just make an alt thus have an extra 300 mythos a week right? So I stand by my statement, this game requires you to roll an alt to get around mythos cap which is opposite from the 'do it all' on one char thing that is the main selling point for this game.
I do agree that I prefer to focus on one main but hey, there is not a heck of a lot of things to do other than run AK (and now WP) a couple thousand times until 2.1 shows up in January or something.

I have to agree with this to some degree. Realistically, the ToM weekly cap makes getting 90 gear on one job a drawn-out, time-consuming task. To gear more than one job (or spec for that matter) with end-game/level 90 gear would take many months. That seems like too much to me. My understanding of why they implemented the many-jobs-with-one-toon model is so that people could change jobs quickly and easily to make the game more enjoyable. Making someone grind for 6 months to fully gear 2 jobs seems counterproductive and kind of defeats this design, if I understand it correctly, in my humble opinion. While the grind to 50 seems somewhat reasonable, I think the ToM cap should be more loosely implemented so it is easier for players to gear up more than one job for end game play.
To be honest, if they don't make some change to this I doubt I will stay with the game, as I will get bored of grinding a second or third job for end game play and will move on to another game.. like ESOL in the spring, or Star Citizen, or ...
