How to Monk (50 onry)

2 questions, please excuse my noobiness, I am new to Monk class.

1. Mercy Stroke is of the GCD so I don't understand how there would be NO ROOM as you put it for it when you can tie it in to a macro and not even know it is there. Free damage.
   
   
2. When you put yourself in to lets say, Fists of Earth and all your attacks get converted to Earth based attacks, how does 10% Blunt help, wouldn't it be more beneficial to have another class decrease thier magical resistances?

Your Mercy stroke bit is right.
Your second point is based on an outdated toolip. Fists of Earth does not give you elemental damage, neither does fire or wind. They are just buffs as the mouseover toolip of the actual abilities says. The mouseover tooltip on your buff bar is incorrect, such as fist of wind reducing recast timers.
