What? The ID rotation is MUCH tighter. Not only have you not refreshed the Twin Snakes buff with one cycle, but you haven't refreshed GL3 either.
With BS/TrS, you may drop the 10% buff. With ID, you WILL lose GL3.
If you take off one ID to give time for dots, the ID rotation loses its dps advantage.

No, but on a basic comparison level - the difference between ID and, say DK (the next ability in the cycle), is more than 10%. The BS-TrS loses about 15 potency from applying a dot. I know there's more involved than that but I can't see the ID losing less than 15 potency when taking out an ID from the rotation.

I'd love to see it properly simulated though.

Hello guys im new to monk class and it seems to have alot of work to keep up with other dps. I just have some newbie monk question.

    1. Does all Monk skills are considered Blunt damage?
    2. If so Dragon kick gives blunt resistance by 10% to target will that increase the chance that Snap punch will be a better skill than Impulse Drive?

    1. Pretty much. Dots do not count as far as I know.
    2. Pretty sure ID is piercing damage, as that's what dragoons use and it's part of their combo. So it would follow that SP is 10% better than ID.

Great questions. Had not even considered that. It would be nice to get some real confirmation about it though. I'm pretty sure what I said is right, but you might want to put these questions in "The Monk Temple" as well.

Don't forget though that Disembowel applies a 10% Piercing Resistance debuff, so if you have a Dragoon in your party as well the two skills should both benefit equally. The only time this situation would favor Snap Punch would be when there's no dragoon. Though I still feel the 70 TP cost of Impulse Drive will make it a dps loss over a BS/TS/SP combo eventually.

It's not that easy but you can be right, I'll check.

Damage type depends of weapon, not skills.
So all monk skills are considered blunt damage, execpt dot.

Ok i see what you did there. I think what you mean is what ever the "skill/cross skill" is it will stay blunt damage.

I've always wondering if Fracture counted as Blunt or not, since it has a significant direct damage component.
