Looking at both mine and your sys info, there are three similarities which not all computers have, which is that we're both using Windows 8.1, we both have AMD-brand graphics cards, and we both have OpenAL. Everyone has Adobe Flash, a great deal of people have Firefox and Chrome, we share a few games, but games usually have zero interference in any other software (though for the sake of argument, we both have Terraria, Audiosurf, Reus, Final Fantasy VII, Civilization V, and Steam), everyone has Java, everyone has Adobe Reader, most gamers have NVIDIA PhysX, etc.

OpenAL is an audio helper, so I doubt that has anything to do with it, and AMD Graphics cards just handle the graphics and any lag from them would cause the entire game to operate very, very slowly and jittery, so it can't be that either.

That means that there might be compatibility issues with Windows 8.1, if it is indeed on the user's side of things. Gonna try starting FFXIV in compatibility mode, see if that fixes the issue.

Cool, i just wanted to buy a new wireless xbox360 controller today cos i think it broke. While gathering for example sometimes it hits two times while i pressed one time, like it hanhs sometimes and gives double input. Glad it isnt me alone having this issue. After latest patch it was introduced i guess.

Attempted to fix by starting FFXIV in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. No luck, problem still persisted. Also attempted updating my drivers (turns out they were actually out of date), and that didn't fix it either. Also tried uninstalling my controller's drivers and re-installing them. That also didn't work. So short of downgrading my entire OS to Windows 7 (incredibly tedious, incredibly expensive procedure) and praying to the technology gods for a fix to be found to this issue, I am officially lost.

Also, this issue has been occurring since launch and has remained unchanged through every single patch and update to FFXIV.

Addendum to further testing:

Going off of the advice of Square-Enix tech support, the following potential fixes have proven unsuccessful:

-Updating all Graphics Drivers
-Updating all Controller Drivers
-Unplugging all non-essential hardware (everything except Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, and Power Supply)
-Disabling all antivirus and firewall software.
-Setting all Final Fantasy XIV programs to Windows 7 Compatibility Mode
-Disabling all software that uses internet access.
-Running Windows Update, then restarting.

I have also been told by tech support that FFXIV is unsupported by Windows 8 and 8.1, and that it could cause problems like this. I have also been told that the game is incompatible with Xbox 360 controllers as well, which, again, may cause problems like this.

I'm not going to give up, however, but I'll keep testing whatever I can to ensure that this very serious issue is dealt with.

Have you tried deleting the FFXIV.cfg file? It's under "User\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\" and contains your game pad configuration info.

There should be no need to "calibrate" an Xbox 360 controller with the game's "calibration" config, This should be true with any controller that uses Xinput. I would advise you to skip this unless your controller uses DirectInput.

Hi, I am also having these same issues as you guys are with the controller just not responding to any additional inputs at given times, and today fell off the platform in titan extreme because of it. I also have Windows 8. (not 8.1 though)

My character would not stop running in a given direction, and I had not ever hit Autorun/LB (I knew better since the Autorun became so sensitive recently) so it was not that. This doesn't happen in any other game I have tried with controller (MGR:R, PSO2, and Dark Souls, for example) so I can't blame the controller here.

Please fix this.

It's hard to explain...like it remembered my last input, then didn't respond to anything else I tried to input for about 3 seconds, which ultimately led to me running off of the edge in titan extreme the other day...and by the time it read new inputs (something like even re-positioning the camera, since it was spinning out of control from my last input) it was too late.

I hope that made a little more sense, I'm struggling to describe what exactly happens, sorry for any confusion.
