Oh yeah, of course. The OP of the reddit thread showed that he's had Hasty Touch failures go 5+ in a row a number of times. It's sad and terrible when it happens but it's all up to chance and the game actually ISN'T fudging the numbers. The probabilities even out over time but goddamn it hurts when they're not in your favor.![]()
What gets me is when an 'excellent' condition comes up... I used to get happy to see an excellent, now I cringe since it seems a vast majority of time I get a failure! on that condition. Yeah maybe it's completely skewed psychological perception of success/failure rates but yeah - it does feel skewed.Oh yeah, of course. If you're a good crafter, you'll ALWAYS have Steady Hand 1 or 2 up, so just use Standard Touch for 100% success rate on Excellent procs.
Yeah that's another thing that feels skewed! lol
Seems like excellent condition tends to pop up more often then not right after SH wears off! =P

The goal of crafting is to reach the quality bar full to get a 100% to get an HQ, if its 100% it will always work. If at 98% well... you still have a 2% of None HQ. Believe me the random number regenrator os mean sometimes and I had gotten into that 2% but also I had made HQ's with barely 5%-10%.
There are 2 things here to consider. 1. Efficiency and 2. Success Rate. Each ability have its own Efficiency and Success rate, lets for example analyze these 2 skills...
Standard Touch: The efficiency of this one if Im not mistake is 100% while its success rate is 90%. What this means? That you have 90% chance that the skill works and that your progress bar moves by a number based on 100% of your craftmanship stat. If You use the Steady Hand ability this will increase your chance of success by 20% means 90 + 20 = 110% so you will never fail progress.

Continue:
Hasty Touch: The efficiency on this one is 100% but this one is quality and not progress, so if you success then your quality bar will move a number based on 100% of your control stat. The chance of success for Hasty Touch is just 50% so you will fail half the time. If you use Steady Hand II then the success increase by 30% making you have a 80% that the skill works for 5 steps.
In Numbers:
If with each step you get 80 quality per success then if you use the Ability that Cost 18 CP (efficiency 100%) you will get 80 quality increase, if instead you use the ability that cost 32 CP (efficiency 125%) you will get 100 quality increase. Of course these are under normal circustances (white sphere). The red (good) and Excellent (multi color) will give you more quality (never progress, so dont increases progress bar). Black sphere will reduce quality gain. Failures never get any progress or quality increase.

you have the same trouble with gathering, yesterday a couple of time a 96% of gather have lead to 5 miss on 6... means i did get 1 item on the 6 with 96%.... it will be ok if it i didn't happend a couple of time.
i means get 5 miss with 4% of miss on the same spot... is....weird. but when that happend a couple of time is not normal.
I HQed a Jade Crook at 1%.....
I'm waiting for Karma to come to me when I'm at 99% on an Astral Ring and for it to go NQ >.>
C'est la vie.
