New Arrivals to Faerie

Greetings Faerie~!

I am Draco Cyrancia and I recently transferred to this server along with my in-game companion, Yumie Alichia. We thought it best to introduce ourselves in this new environment. ^^

We're an adventuring duo that plays in a very casual, immersion based fashion: enjoying the experiences, the world/lore, personal challenges/victories, and generally avoiding a grind/progression focus. (More on that can be found in Yumie's blog post if curious)

It is our eventual goal to find a few others over the course of our journey with a similar mindset to form a small, tight-knit group with, but we are content to enjoy the adventure until we do. We also both keep occasional blogs on the Lodestone of our experiences.

If you ever see 2 Hyurs sheltering from a rainstorm or a red haired girl laughing over a fallen Lancer () feel free to say hi... Unlike Lalafell, we don't bite.

For the record when once I was myself but a humble Lalafell, I bit not a single person. Instead I feared being trod upon or being eaten myself. Its especially scary when you're already sitting about the campfire and the conversion turns to the consumption of your brethren. And let me tell you, being within punting distance of an open flame is not a good place to be when you first discover your kind is considered to be little more than an emergency food supply to most adventurers.

Thankfully I've since grown a few inches and a tail.

So if you see a Miqo'te in a straw hat sitting upon a fence feel free to wave, I don't bite... at least not usually.

Welcome to Faerie, I'm the self proclaimed first to solo to 50(minus dungeons), what brings you to our world? I've been noticing a bit of transfers and been wondering, Im actually shocked I would had thought it be the opposite. Maybe its the lay back drama free aura we have here.

Nice to see some folks enjoying them selves, if you ever need anything let me know. I'm on a crafting binge right now, I see your level is about the same as my craft level as a gift I will craft anything withing my power for you and your mate for FREE.

Well I could use a CARRY in Sunken Temple, during my soloing, I flew passed it and need some mobs from my hunting log in there. Yeah, me being a tank I could of used Duty Finder which is pretty much instant Que many moons ago, but I always rather go with the folks from the same world.

Well the most general reason is that we come from Behemoth, one of the highest population servers, and we wanted to try a lower population server - which Faerie was one. ^^ Was pretty much a toss up after that, I played characters on various lower population servers throughout the week and Faerie seemed nice enough from my limited sampling. That plus browsing through the forums, LS/FCs, and Lodestone entries - it did indeed seem like a fairly laid back aura.

...Plus my Lalafell friend ranted when he heard we may be transferring to Faerie(including him), and what's more entertaining than an angry Lalalfell?

Much appreciate the crafting offer. I only regret it'll be quite some time before we're at the Sunken Temple, would love to help.

Have to say, looking through all your posts and your search for that feeling...I know exactly what you mean and it's the type of thing Yumie and I love as well. (Hard to find any of us FFXI forged people who don't I suppose XD)

That being said, we're also focused on immersion as much as the party/camaraderie emphasis. Viewing it as a journey, taking it slow, spending hours at times just sitting at a fire and enjoying the scenery, discussing story/lore. etc. And we are quite slow beyond slow.(25 on our mains, haven't even advanced to joining a Grand Company yet ^^; )

Would hate for you to make the commitment of transferring your character over to this server only to find out that our play styles don't quite match. >_< But if what you know of us so far make us seem like a pair you share a mindset with - would be happy to meet you. d(^,,^)

Thanks for the reply, Draco. My level is actually the result of not having people to enjoy the world with at a slow pace and/or 'adventure' with. There are so many awesome sights to see and even funny NPC conversations to listen to and laugh about, but it is sad to do these things all alone with nothing but screenshots to remember them by. If I had been in a kind of FC where people were not so focused on 'getting everything done' and 'progression', I think I'd be a lot lower level. At any rate, I plan to level all of the jobs I like, just like I did in FFXI, so adventuring around with friends can be done on any of the new jobs I don't have leveled yet or even synched down.

I would love to transfer over, but need to wait until Monday night to do so (in my search for like-minded people I keep transferring servers). I'll let you know when I get there and what my char name is since I may change it so it is not so 'bard' centric sounding ^_^v

That is so very, very true ; ; Having just one other soul even who truly appreciates a sight can make all the difference between an incredible experience and a dull one.
