I dunno... I'm a cat person, and the female cat persons have a cat-like jump... MORE IMMERSION!
(I hate the cat-like jump btw, it's so corny...)
*How many more posts till General Discussion lockout ho~hum~*
Sorry, derailed the thread for a second there. >_>
I miss the camera functionality from 1.0.
More specifically, the first person camera functionality.
The ability to zoom, lock, look up at a 90 degree angle instead of locked to something like 75 degrees, and actually run backwards all while in first person mode made it a joy to use. =D
As for third person mode we had: 180 degree angle vertical axis, macro zoom (being able to zoom so much that your character's eyes could fill the entire screen), lock-on with the ability to freely move the camera 180 degrees in any direction without it snapping back to center, and a lot more I'm probably forgetting... I'll probably remember later while trying to mess with 2.0's basic camera functions.
1.0 was all about immersion. You truly were a part of a living, breathing world. There was a solid community that sad most people here missed out on. The server I was in had politics between Is'es. You had unspoken alliances and rivalries. I remember how a greedy crafting LS ran our server for the longest time. I was part of an LS made up of a ragtag band of battle classes that quickly rose in max level members. When NM season started, we had the battle classes to hunt the NMs for their drops. We were able to grab that greedy crafting LS by the balls. At the end of the day, there was drama, reconciliation and adventure. Stories from a bygone era.
I really miss 1.0.
The 1.0 english voicework, i prefered the voicework of 1.0. I also miss the voice i had in 1.0 for my lalafell which no longer exists =/

Some of these may have already mentioned but hey, its my list
#1 Autosorting- I know.. its coming!
#2 Crafting HQ and leveling challenge- crafting is definitely better now, but sure is easy to make HQ and to level up. Everyone will only have HQ gear in (short time). But it beats the original crafting that required a level 35 goldsmith to make a part for a level 7 fishing rod..
#3 Bazaars- something to do when bored and a way to avoid market taxes
#4 Overpowered cross-class abilities
#5 The old Thaum
#6 Overpowered spirit bond parties in beast man camps
Side note , would be nice to see something other than LOS agro mobs and up the danger in world areas a bit more. I can ride my chocobo though any area pretty much..
But ARR is superior.. I don't miss 1.0 overall. There was a reason I quit..
Just things that could be brought back that were actually good..

This is mildly entertaining to hear people say that they miss 1.0. At the end there, things started getting really good. But at the beginning, it was a travesty.
I remember the days of everyone pining over what ARR would be... now it's the other way around.
Oh how nostalgia molds a person's opinions! Lol "Grass is always greener" syndrome.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?
I don't think anyone has said they miss 1.0 in it's entirety, just some elements that were actually good. This is mildly entertaining to hear people say that they miss 1.0. At the end there, things started getting really good. But at the beginning, it was a travesty.
