Stuff I Miss From 1.0

Hmmm. I almost pointed to a thread I had made earlier in the year similar to this... but that's almost a different topic(?)

As far as what I miss... whoooooo boy... I've already listed so much on these forums... hmmmmm.

Well, one I haven't said yet is, I miss the original underwear gear slots. There's just something about being able to change the color/style of your underclothes that appealed to me back then... still does really.
Also my Miqo'te's underwear was a lot more... decent/cool back then.

I miss my Miqo'te's voice... a lot... like you wouldn't believe how much I miss her crazy cat laugh. If I could bring back just one thing, for her alone, that would be it. =(

First off, Yoshi P and Co. have done a great job.

I do miss things from 1.0, as I knew I would. Top for me are:

The wide open maps: This I miss the most.

The Thanalan music: It's still around, but much of it is replaced.

Original crafting: Crafting was never as satisfactory for me after its initial nerf. I made my first Cowl, and I was so proud of it, because it was such a pain to make. I kept it through all of 1.0, and was delighted to find it still in my inventory here in ARR; it may even be pictured here on my avatar (Thank you, Yoshi P! ^^ ). This being said, I've read a lot of good feedback on crafting.

Pretty much all of gathering: I don't like the new gathering at all.

All this being said... I really look forward to housing, gardening, chocobo raising, and many years of fun in FFXIV:ARR.

I'm gonna say it.... I miss anima. In 1.0 no one teleported 'cause they were always out of anima....in 2.0 no one teleports 'cause no one wants to pay GIL to go somewhere they could go on foot. At least if we still had anima you could OCCASIONALLY teleport somewhere. If the trouble is running dry, why not...you get x number of free teleports or anima teleports per x amount of time, and if you want to teleport more than that within x period of time, you start paying gil?

But hands down the BIGGEST thing I miss...is fishing having a legitimate role in the game (and no, a half dozen crafting items does NOT count).

I mostly miss a lot of the original field music.

Especially "On Windy Meadows" for La Noscea. I know the tracks are scattered in the game's cutscenes...but a lot of my favorites are missing.

The fade out / silent for 3 mins stuff just isn't doing it for me.

Don't miss this one bit. who the hell wants to wait like 15 minutes to travel anywhere?

Also, new coerthas is way better. we needed a snowy zone. I don't want "soothing." Also, that music was gloomy, not soothing.

Many people actually do, including me

It was nice and relaxing, especially if you had a rod and some bait

I find few places in ARR that are nice and relaxing. Even the nooks and crannies of Uldah seem to be gone (for quiet crafting). I'm hoping that individual housing will help with this.

You want a quiet place to do stuff? Go to the Wolves Den Pier.

Never cared for Uldah myself. There are lots of nooks and crannies in gridania and a few in Limsa. Anyways, why on earth would you want to craft in a main city? It's not even a sanctuary to give you that extra % exp to every item crafted.

You are much better off crafting in a place like Aleport that is just a 100 coin boat ride from the main city Limsa Lominsa

I suppose everyone just likes to craft where they are comfortable though heheh
