PvP video is pathetic

I'm not into pvp and almost in all mmorpgs I try it for a very short time and mostly ignore it afterwards.
But seeing "pvp" video in ARR makes me so sad it's almost funny, is that all SE has to show off? I mean this is a promo video and it looks hmm dissapointing.. you can't tell me anyone into pvp actually finds that video exciting or promising?

I think this is a good hint, they are not going to fix the delay issues, and that is the reason pvp will be like presented in the video, standing in spot and attacking each other.

A couple of friends saw the vid and told me they don't think they'll be getting into ffxiv anymore. PvP is the deal breaker for myself and believe SE can keep it balanced but if delay issues occur then I'm pretty much done.

PvP the deal breaker in a FF game? Well then you should've played something else to start with. It makes zero sense playing FF for PvP only.

Remember: ARR was designed to attract people like him, so while it is a "FF game" it's definitely not designed as such in the long run.

Have to agree with this guy, playing a FF game for the PVP is like playing Ms.Pac-Man for the over-the-top graphics. lol Man, I can't wait until all these casuals (non-FF fans) move on.

Umm, yes. Ballista was fun, actually. It would have been much more popular if it was actually rewarding as well.

However, SE is generally bad at making short videos to show things off. Cinematic trailers they do are awesome, but they always seem to mess up little things like these videos.

Don't judge PvP off this video. It was tested by legacy players in beta 4, and i can assure you it's more fun than that video makes it look.

The ability lag is so bad, it actually gives me feels.

.300 delay isn't doing it anymore.

The sheer fact that you have to pre-move for fights like Titan proves at how broken their NA network actually is.

Effective PVP requires a constant connection with immediate feedback. -- Even GW2 has a better network...and it's free.

I am into PvP and I find it promising because promo videos are rarely useful in measuring how the real thing will play out. Take the E3 trailer (found here-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vze5b9SaZwQ ), during the Garuda fight the entire party is standing clumped together and by the pillars! In reality, they would never do this because they'd share the damage from AoE attacks and destroy the pillars before phase 2...but it doesn't matter, its just a promo video Its there to look cool, not spell out the gritty details.
