Give me the original FFXI party style levelling any day over FATEs. At least there you actually talk and make friends instead of zerging like a swarm of bees.

A very good comedian said it all in one line.
" Theres not a pill you can take, a class you can goto. Stupid is forever. "
FATES aren't ruining the game. Its a system specifically designed around multi classing on one character, so no more quests.
Dungeons aren't going to teach people anything. At all. If you want people to learn something, have them do the stupid guildheists, those actually INSTRUCT you on how to play cooperatively and teaches mechanics.
P.S. Its kind of a double standard. People complaining that fates are ruining the game and not teaching people dungeons. When probably a majority of the people complaining about this are probably people that immediately ditch wp/ak etc when they see someone not well geared. :P

When all is lost,
All is in vain.
When Good and Evil,
Unite in pain.
Rivers of swords must join as one,
Only then shall the spell be undone.
Agree with OP and with Rekujen's post as well. It's not about gimping Fate XP, it's about buffing xp in other activities so they also become a viable way to level up.
Although I wouldn't mind a miqote butt fix either. Just throwing it out there.
Take off the rose-colored glasses. That was only the case if you had the right bandwagon jobs of the era. I take it you never leveled Beastmaster, Summoner, Puppetmaster, or Dragoon prior to Abyssea?
This is already coming with 2.12) Place a "Any Random Dungeon" button for max level characters. This button will place the player in any dungeon for any level. Prioritizing placing the "Randomly placed" player with lower level players to fill in needed spots for the que. For their effort, give the player marks and gil at the end. This reward is the same regardless of what dungeon you end up in. Also, make chests give the "Randomly placed" player marks and gil. This will make them grab chests instead of skipping them for speed, since they will probably have little interest in the drops.
This "Any Random Dungeon" button does two fold.
1)Places tanks and healers in the que for lower level dungeons. This allows alts and new players to level character in dungeons with shorter wait times.
2) Give higher level character another source of marks over spamming CM, WP, or AK. You know, something different.
Also they should buff leve exp if we do them in party. Same exp as now if we do them solo and in party an exp bonus for each party member.

In 1.00 I would log in and ask myself, what will I do today?
In ARR I log in and ask, what does SqEnix want me to do today?
FF14 a leash reborn.
My only current problem with FATES is that new players have no way of progressing the story having to do the first three dungeons WHEN NO ONE DOES THEM. I ran into this problem recently when a friend of mine just started the game. It took us almost 30 mins to Q, and i was the tank. Good God i'm sorry for solo DPS roles >_>

sometimes is so many players on the fate the i can't even see the monsters by the time am able to see them they already dead.
another thing i have never seen odin i been there and is just so much lag the i cant even see what am suppose to be figthing and out of the sudden am dead
i dont know how can you fix this the only solution i can think is to make a world for ps3 only users that may fix the lag issues
If they just buffed Leve and Dungeon XP, and left FATEs the way they are people could choose to solo or play in groups. Having it one way or the other, like it is now is terrible.
