Now that your done venting.... move along...Also, the reason why I'm even being like this? When I went to the General Discussion forum, I saw like... 10 or so "Job Petition" threads. It just drove me insane, and I ended up venting.
So, On topic: I wouldn't mind seeing a Summoner subjob for either Mystic, Conjurer, or Thaumaturge.
Though I have to wonder if it would be possible to be a Lancer/Summoner combo... :3 That would be interesting! Being able to actually fight alongside your summons instead of simply standing at a distance and burning your MP like it is in XI...![]()
Yeah, I didn't realize that fully. I was just blind with frustration and venting due to seeing all those threads about job petitions (seriously, who needs 10+ when they could be consolidated? Could someone report those threads so we can clean out the clutter?).Silver,
The whole point of implementing the Job System was to bring Traditional FF Nostalgia and Role Specialization to the Armoury System.
Weapon Classes (Armoury System) Are weapons. Musketeer is a GUN user. Fencer is a Fencing Sword User. they are not Jobs.
Jobs are Role Specializations based on the Traditional FF Jobs. Ranger is a Ranged Specialization. Thief is a DD/Crowd Control Specialization. Paladin is a Tank Specialization. They are not Weapon Classes.
So, yeah. Sorry for the ranting.

All those platforms are good. Except Silverlight. Who uses that? Seriously. :P
Back on OT.
I'm just gonna wait and see how the job system works.
multi-billion dollar global trading companies actually :-) while not as sexy as game development around NYC you can easily net $90-$100 / hour if you rock silverlight.

Well, now that the nerd rage is over, I would like to throw out some ideas for jobs that transition from DoH classes.
For instance, alchemist can perform a quest in which they learn the art of potion tossing and unlock the job of Pharmacist (or some other less dumb name).
Likewise, a miner might take a quest in which they learn to use explosives, and unlock Demolitionist.
I think that would give people who have chosen to craft and gather as a profession a good path to combat. I've just thrown out some general ideas as far as the classes. I'm sure something more "Final Fantasy" feeling can be thought up ^^

Anyway I agree with the non support style red mage. Id like to see red mage be the magic fencer like it was from day one.
