Wasn't that NPC Arcanist doing AoE buffs to people? Maybe they might be the "Bard" class but there's also that Ul'dah story mission Bard Hyur that wields a knife.

I think bard will be a class, stated again just due to the video on youtube with music spells and the guy was in Garlean armor, just a random dat swapping vid. Just if those spells were there then, they might have a music class, bard and its advanced job could be dancer or songtress (X-2)

On french forum i have post something similar to bard.
-Artificier : You start with a gun and can use some buff at yourself. (DD ~ with some tools/buff for soloing things).

Then you can choose to become:
Gunslinger: You're using 2 hexagun with powerful buff to yourself only. (DD with powerfull self buffs).
Chemist: You're using a gunblade, using powerfull buff group and debuff on your target. (Support with powerfull allies buffs and target debuffs).
