    Suggestion: Experience Forwarding

    What do I mean?
When on a level 50 character, you pick a non-max level job to receive the experience.

    Why?
This solves multiple issues. Leveling alt jobs is currently awful. There are only enough quests to level 1 job, and they don't replenish. Fate grinding is the only method people will choose because of the speed, and it is doubtful the current 30 second burst down method is the intended use of fates. This could make an attractive alternative.

It also may help lessen dungeon queue times at higher level. If a person can level alts by running high level dungeons quickly as a tank, they may be more likely to be on their tank class running dungeons.

Finally, it eliminates the "trash isn't worth it" problem that has caused tank runs until he dies speed runs to continue to happen. This adds more incentive to clearing the dungeon as intended.

Reply to this idea and lets see it implemented so more mechanics start being used as intended.

Your idea is great, and would indeed improve many factors of the game including the ones you described.

It will not happen and should not happen, though, because gaining direct experience as a class should involve playing that class, period. It's both lore-breaking and defeats the purpose of a typical rpg.

A slightly different version of your idea idea that would mostly solve the same issues and not have this problem:

Allow experience that would be gained at level 50 to fill up the rested xp bar. You would still have to play your class. You wouldn't be able to ignore the alt when rest xp is capped, but it would still incentivize the things you described, as well as alleviate the lack of non-fate leveling content.

I wouldn't want my EXP to go towards another job exactly, but I do think it's obnoxious that a lvl 50 simply loses exp and can't even level up their Chocobo companion.

What would be more useful is perhaps every level's worth of exp (at level 50 that like 500k or so, right?) the player gets a single tome. It should go against the 300 cap and it should be lost if inventory is full. Basically a light, somewhat useful bonus that doesn't break advancement of other jobs. Additionally, by allowing level 50's to gain exp again, companions can continue to be leveled up.

You can still level your chocobo, you just need to fight high level monsters.
