    Challenging 4-Man Content Please

    I know plenty of players who miss the glory of Pre-Nerf AK & Pharos.

    Can something be done?

    For my friends & I who enjoy a good challenge, there's nothing we can do together (for difficulty's sake) outside of locking ourselves out of SCOB once per week.

    I've had lots of friends leave the game as a result too... they have zero interest in doing the dungeons even because they're so easy/mindless.

    Not a complaint, I just wish for harder 4-man content for fun (I enjoy being challenged, I know not everybody does).

    MAKE IT OPTIONAL so people don't feel forced into it who don't enjoy difficulty as I do.

    The newest 4 man dungeons are not too bad. You could always do Primal extremes as well, lots of peoples still can't get enough DPS on the Arbiters in Ramuh .

    They're still incredibly steam-rollable (mechanically simple too)... especially for a group of adventurer's geared from SCOB.

    And no, I don't think stripping off my gear is a viable solution, statistical difficulty doesn't solve for mechanical simplicity.

    Primal Extremes are 8-man.

    I feel kinda bad for them. I've cleared everything in its current state on a toaster (PS3) without issues. I don't understand why people think this game is hard. I want to see dungeons (4 man) that are tuned for mid-high ilvl geared players that drop respectable loot that can be in conjunction with the current tier (at the time) raid gear.

    They are not that mechanical simple either, the thing is overgearing has the side effect of letting you ignore or bypass mechanics, you can tank and spank things that would kill you right away if you were synced to the dungeon's ilvl.

    What's with the burst of new threads btw?

    A great number of the Dungeon Bosses boil down to 2-3 simplistic procedures (with most having only a single mode or phase), even if you infuse them with statistical difficulty.

    What's the difference between that and old pharos/ak? or any dungeon/raid? All bosses are pretty much the same, avoid aoes, kill adds and then switch to boss, if what you want is stricter DPS checks then ask specifically for that, but mechanics will always be the same.

    Something people don't consider is the average ilvl of people back then before they nerfed those dungeons and the average ilvl of people now with the new dungeons, if back then you could outgear the dungeon this much most of those dps checks would have meant nothing, if they didn't nerf them right now they would be a faceroll, if any of the expert dungeons would have those dps checks they would still be a faceroll with everyone wearing i110.

    So yeah, that statistical difficulty plays a bigger role than you think, any challenge will be killed by overgearing, just like how they ease up dated content by adding echo, which only increases your stats while keeping the mechanics intact.

    Why stop at 4? I call for challenging 72 man content. Think front lines but with a PVE twist.

    I loved the old pre-nerf PS, but it didn't love how it destroyed DF groups. Almost always at least one member would abandon the duty on seeing that their roulette gave them PS. However I don't think this would have happened if the dungeon offered rewards that were worth the trouble (PS had the same drops as much easier to complete dungeons).

    I too would love harder 4 man content, but I don't agree that it's rewards should be obtainable elsewhere, otherwise the majority of the community won't want to join in. We need to feel that our efforts are rewarded.
