Yes, because we (the playerbase) can easily test who puts out what dps and BRD is only at the top when fight requires a whole lot of movement, like Titan HM. Regardless, I am less concerned about the nerf than I am amused by all the folks who were crying for it - current endgame fights practically require at least one bard for mage ballad (assuming that group is not extremely overgeared for the fight), all those fights also include a dps check...with nerfed bard dps, guess who will have to pick up the slack?

Mostly because quite a few game developers think that if a lot of players complain about something, than they have to tweak it regardless of the actual need for a tweak. Whether SE is one of those companies or not remains to be seen.

Sounds like they'll be switching the subclass out from lancer to something worthless like they did for MNK in beta. MNK had Archer subclass, but they switched it since raging + blood for Blood was too strong I guess. 10 to 1 This happens for BRD. Good luck, hope you don't get MRD like the poor MNKs did.

Well it would make Paeon a lot more useful. They might as well just get rid of the dmg penalty on Paeon imo.

Bard is not OP lets get that out the way first, if a bards is topping dps tables you have bad players end of, those who cry about movement or avoiding aoe's and being able to dps still what is your point ???? were ranged >.> use your head we still do awful dps, even in titan bards do not out dps mnk blm smn and drg. Now to the main point as someone that mained bard on 1.0 and in ARR i cannot fathom the need to "nerf" the class re balance yes but to nerf it is pointless what they should do is make bard a...... BARD the current songs honestly really are pointless ballad is only needed for 1 or 2 fights and requiem is only useful with mages, paeon is never used tbh. Give bard a remodeling give us more songs haste, ATK buff for pt, VIT buff, whatever. Then as a pathway from archer give us ranger to satisfy the ranged dps and those who still want to dps with a bow. just my 2 cents from someone doing coil for last 6 weeks with multiple 50's

It's because people swear by Bard just because of how it is now. I have several people in my FC that hate all other DPS jobs and only play Bard for the most part, and yes they're pissed.

Frankly, I used to main Bard, I play Dragoon as my main now (because I wanted a challange with my DPSing), and while I'm not incredibly happy about the nerf, I saw it coming a mile away

They might not even change DMG, just mechanics. Really no point in speculation, we'll just have to wait and see.
