Why is there not enough quests to level you up after level 30+ ?

I'm now at level 37 and since hitting around 34/35 I have found there simply aren't enough quests to push you over the next level requirement.

I am currently stood in Camp Dragonhead, i've handed in a quest to an NPC and now there is nothing except RED Quest givers around me and absolutely no guidance on whether I have missed something or not.

Again I will have go grind and kill random creatures or wait about 30 minutes to get into a dungeon to push myself to 38.

I haven't missed a single in game quests, dungeon or raid and yet the game hasn't provided enough "experience" for what I need?

I don't mind this too much, but it feels like we are being forced into dungeon runs or creature killing to fill in a gap.

Make sure to keep up with the hunting log, it keeps appreciable amounts of exp.

I personally didn't feel an outright lack of quests until I hit around the lvl46 area, when the story quests start making huge jumps in level requirements.

I've actually been doing the hunter log too, but its making no difference. I'm now grinding like an idiot doing repeatable quests.

I agree there should be more quests (because it can't hurt) but with my first 50 I never ran out of quests and did no FATE grinding. Have you gone to the other countries and done the appropriate level quests over there? Most people say there are no quests in the 40's but quests open up in the high end areas of Aleport and Sagoli Desert.

Devs assume you are off into other methods of exp gain by then I imagine. There are quests but they are spread out a bit. In config, put up your duty list to pop on zoning and you will be notified in each area. I recall a bunch of stuff in Dragonhead, Little Alamihigo, Highgate areas. I think there are some more in the off islands that you get to via ferry er I can't remember the name but the beach resort area outside Limsa. Costa Del Sol, thats the name.

A lot of quests are unlocked by progressing through the main storyline rather than just attaining the level required. Hence it pays to return to earlier areas to see if there are new quests that have become available once you've reached a certain point in the game.
