I'm not sure how much experimentation you put in on a kill this week...

The challenge now is to find out how to fail twisters consistently. The night before the nerf we experimented with changing our strat a lot to essentially try to trivialize the hard enrage, which did work out for us today with two groups. Our rate of "good" attempts pre-nerf (where the only deaths occurring to twisters were recoverable deaths) definitely went up over time as the aggregate dodge rate of the group went up. A few public posts I've read from Final Fantasy's members indicated that they felt like they were close to a win before the nerf as well, so I don't think we were the only ones keeping quiet, keeping our heads down, and trying to master the mechanic; we guessed privately that at least 3-5 FCs were as close or almost as close as we were, including your group. What ended up hurting us the most was the existence of the script-breaking Twintania exploit and the subsequent two weeks of downtime.

Regardless of how they did or didn't work, pretty much that, yeah. After seeing enough of what seemed like false positives, yet seeing a lot of beliefs of 'working as intended' with unclear subtext of 'pending how you force your update' made it a generally awful experience. A lot of the discussion around 'bugged', 'not bugged', 'random' started to crush me after a while because it felt like miscommunications, because the only general affirmation most people were looking for was 'yeah, this seems like it suffers pretty badly on how updates work and make it confusing'. All in all, I'm glad it's all done with.

Yeah, never blaming anyone on anything for keeping their heads down. The original post was something of a feeler for 'does anyone feel like something is really off with this?', and the result was 'maybe, but lets continue science anyways' - there's always clues to pick out from people as they discuss.
