I really do not get it.
FF14 ARR is geared towards casual player. The producer even took note to mention it specifically. Thus how do those "MAKE IT HARDER" people actually justify their logic that this game is too easy for them, the pro mmo grinders. If you really dislike the game ... then please leave.
No MMO I know, has great end game content in the first few months of release. why do you expect FF14 to be different? They already said sorry for pulling Crystal Tower due to some balancing issue. They already giving you harder "extreme" content.
Seriously come back in 6 months or go play another MMO and get disappointed somewhere else. Everything takes time... If you cannot wait, then there is only 1 solution that does not involve "magic".
Didn't WoW have both Onyxia and Molten Core at launch? There was also UBRS, which while it wasn't a "raid" (back then raids were 40man, only) was still basically one (I don't remember if it was 10man or 15man, though).
Not saying we should compare this game to WoW at launch, just saying, the statement that "no MMORPG at launch has lasting raid content" is wrong. A couple games have successfully done "enough raid content to last a while". Even SWTOR actually had enough content to last about 3 months because it included three difficulty modes from the start for the raids. Rift also had pretty significant raid content, although most of the difficulty was due to bugs and poor game design more than anything.
This game wouldn't have been so bad if they'd managed to get CT and minimum dungeon ilvls at launch.
Oh well, 2.1 is coming soon.
Wow did not have onyxia or mc for months. As somebody who played from beta, you had scholo, ubrs, lbrs, dire maul, and another five man I'm forgetting for quite a time. There was a number of people who went hard fully geared in tier 0 before mc release.
You're thinking of Stratholme, I think.
Also, I doublechecked.
MC and Onyxia were in at launch/release.
Maybe not in beta, but they were definitely in at launch. Wikipedia and WoWWiki both say so.
So there you go. Some MMORPGs did do it right. WoW, SWTOR and Rift are the only three that come to mind, but I am certain there are others that had "adequate" endgame content at release. FFXIV definitely doesn't, though.
One fight makes this game hard, MIRITE GUIAS?!
I don't even care about raid content. Two main dungeons to run end-game is piss poor. The token system is awful too.
True, I havent cleared any coil turns yet. SO? I tried Coil for the 1st time yesterday and got the snake down to 5% at best after joining a random group shout at Rev troll.
Im a full time student and don't have time atm to play all day like some of you guys. With a static Im sure I can be one of many people I know now who can clear turn 1-4 in 40
mins or less LOL. And coil is supposed to be ridiculously hard as its pre-crystal raid content. Even then, Coil is the only thing I havent done yet. Thats all you guys got?? 1 event
to show how this game isnt easy? Lmao. Stop fooling yourselves.
Because it's common sense that if you want to claim <content is too easy> you should <complete the content first>.
Expressing an opinion should only be done based on first-hand experience. Going <content is too easy> because <other people said so> isn't expressing an opinion or concern, it's giving in to crowd mentality.
I'm not saying people are wrong that the content is too easy. Not at all. I'm in one of those 40-minute clear groups. But I'm saying trying to claim it's too easy when you haven't even done it yet is silly and pointless, and people can, and will, and will be justified to, laugh in your face for it.
It is no different from any other conversation subjects. If you haven't actually seen something, how can you talk about it? Repeating what others told you?

Do please continue, I like using the forums' report feature and seeing posts disappear mysteriously as their posters vanish for a while too.
More seriously, keep digging your hole, it's only making you look worse and worse. The facts are: you chose to complain something was too easy, and a cursory glance revealed you hadn't even done that thing. Therefore your opinion it's too easy can't be trusted, since you have no first-hand experience of the thing you're complaining about.
Goes for RL too, you can't complain that driving an 18wheeler is too easy if you've never done it. The drivers might make it look easy, and maybe it IS for all I know, but you're still in no position to make that judgment call.
I miss challenging open world areas where mobs with lvl55-60 or higher roam around.
The lvl49 mobs we have now are boring for any lvl50 char.
Why can't they lower FATE EXP and instead increase EXP or chain bonus for parties fighting high level mobs. In a real party instead of a clusterf*** where the only thing that matters is how fast you can spam your AoEs.
