I am leveling up my next class and am having a really hard time between these two jobs. Maybe some pros and cons of each class and some personal insight on what is more fun to help with my decision? Cmon you know you want to![]()

Spears vs. Fists.
Big hits + off-GCD hits vs. fast hits.
Can't say much for DRG, but if you enjoy being very active in battle, MNK will certainly oblige. Positioning for optimal rotation plus trying to keep stacks of GL up will keep you busy. I need to level LNC ASAP to get BfB, but I have just never been fond of that class. Best of luck with your decision.
DRG would be great if jumps didn't lock youfor that reason is go with monk.
Level 50 MNK+DRG here.
DRGs generally have slower but higher potency attacks and more off GCD attacks like jumps to weave in between those slow hits. They have better burst and a very strong 1-2-3 combo, which makes them great to burn down adds quickly, when there is no time to build up buffs and DoTs. They also have slightly better range and better AOEs (not counting MNKs perfect balance for Rockbreaker spam).
MNKs on the other hand have more buffs and much better DoTs to somewhat counter downtime when they can do nothing due to lack of ranged attacks. They generally hit a lot faster and crit much more often. MNK lacks the burst of DRGs and will struggle more to burn down adds but when they get the time to activate all their buffs (GL3 most importantly) and place their DoTs, they outdamage DRGs.

Thanks for all of the info! I may end up just taking both to 50!
