How about this idea: Once you cap your tomestones for the week try one of the following:
1. Playing another class
2. Going outside
3. Interacting with other humans out there in meatspace

I agree that a cap should be placed on rollover...either one of your suggestions would work just fine. I wouldn't want people who have all the time in the world to be able to farm 2 months worth of myth's & be done with it. But either system would make it nice for people like myself who are very busy IRL & like to travel.
@Sinth: No need to be that way...this is a very good suggestion that would work very well with how busy people are these days. MMO's are trying to adapt to a world where people have less time than they did when traditional MMO's were the norm & this runs right along with that. I realize there will always be those people, of whom your suggestions are likely for, that do nothing but grind the game 24/7. But a lot of people, such as myself, are very busy with work, friends, family & other hobbies that they don't always have the time every week to meet these caps.

Troll Much? I have 2 50's. Just because I post on the forums and play the game doens't mean I don't go outside. I can cap myth in one night of play in under 4 hours, it's not hard. BCB turn 1, AK, AK AK, AK, AK, Garuda, Garuda, WP capped. 7 mins gor Garuda, 25 mins for AK, 20 mins for WP, 15 minutes for turn 1. 2.5 to 3 hours worth of content (5-7 hours + if you count group forming and reserving instance crap, and afk's, dc's etc etc).
You all want your tomestones and you want them now. There is a valid reason why SE has a non-rolling cap for myth tomes. IT KEEPS PEOPLE LOGGING IN TO THE SERVICE. You introduce rollover and in a short time you have people who are finished with the tome-farming and have no incentive to log in and play with others except for each week when they log in to purchase a new piece of gear and log out.
Also, please, I work 50 hours a week, have a family and an active social life. I can still find the time to do 1 run a day and maybe an extra run or two on the weekend to hit cap. Just because some people don't have an abundance of free time doesn't mean others should pay for it.

Sinth: It's already that way. People log in and cap, run BCB, and log off and go play LOL, GTA5, or Pokemon on 3ds....
And allowing me to rollover myth would allow me to do other stuff more often. Go help with a titan, go level out my blm and populate the low level dungeons with some dps. Go keep the fate trains alive, etc etc. Right now I spend a solid 1 to 2 days every week when I play just running AK with some pore lonely soles sitting in Horizon trying to level to 15 but no one there to help them fate, and I would be there filling that hole If I could roll over my myth and skip it one week.

Also I don't want my tomestones now, I want them when the cap resets on monday and it uses 300 from my rollover. What I want is for my myth that I legitally earned to not go to waste up to a 900 cap. Nothing I have suggested here is going to give us more myth. It's just going to let us farm next weeks myth this week, so we can focus on other things next week, like that other class you mentioned.
I disagree with the rollover concept.
It would stop people's urge to play every week when the cap reset...
... UNLESS, they implement a countermeasure like if you pay 1M a week you can rollover your myth or something like that.
Every thing makes up the system in a synergy effect. They really have to be cautious if they try to implement a rollover feature.

clearly, we need to check our tomestone privilege.Instead we should have:
1) A rested bonus for Tomestones (just like exp rested bonus)
2) Removal of a hard cap, and instead a progressive tax on all tomes collected and a redistribution of them to players who have less or none -- A progressive % of tomes collected by players over the cross-server tome average are auto-distributed to other players until the average rises (ie. Lets say you have 900 tomes, and the cross server average for lvl 50 players is 300, you would pay a 90% tax on all tomes you gain and those tomes would be randomly distributed to other players via moogle-mail until the average rises).
These would help bridge the 'tome-income-gap' and promote equality by redistributing resources between those who are privileged with lots tomes and those who aren't.

I'd love to just cap my myth to 2000 and be done for 6 weeks.
Great idea. Then I wouldn't even have to log in.
+1

Gotta keep people paying those subs somehow during those 3 months of no new content.
