I hope that the job quests are interesting, and from the sound of it I am excited. From what I read you will have a quest to open up the job and then other quests to unlock new abilities. This is very exciting and has a lot of potential, as long as its done right.
So far I have really enjoyed the class quests I have done, so if job quests are anything like class quests I'd say that's a step in the right direction.
I'm also hoping that unlocking new abilities are along the lines of the job/class quests, if they add more detail along with lore, and cut scenes then I could see a lot of people being very happy with the system.
In contrast, if it's just killing 8 dodos without any cut scenes, well, I think most people will be unsatisfied with that.

I enjoy the current battle mechanics and now they want to pass over auto-attack like in FFXI?? Jobs?
This is totally being corrupted by every other idea already exsisting from every other MMO out there and SE can't stick to their own guns.
The part I enjoyed more about FFXIV WAS the "armory system" and "attack command" (totally new stuff for me!) but now they want to take away the stamina guage... Segregate traits and abilities for spacific roles... (meh) What's wrong with the class system?
Man, you can't get used to one thing for very long before someone comes around and takes it... (grrrrrr *drinks*!)![]()
