Intelligence vs Determination

I am a Summoner, thus my damage benefits from increased Intel. However, Determination also says it increases all forms of damage including magical, as well as healing.

So overall, which gives a better damage increase for caster classes... Intel or Deter?

I'd like to know as well. Also what's the point of accuracy for a Mage? Can a spell miss the target?

Your main stat always gives a better damage boost (so in this case Int). Yes a spell can miss and I know for Binding Coil, people say you need your ACC at 440+ to be effective.

Basically, once you max out on INT on your gear materia melts the next one to add will be DEX DET and indeed Some Piety + Vitality as well is usefull.

A SMN should not be adding DEX, ever.

I've had spells miss a target. When I was doing some training as a Conjurer I had "Stone" miss a target a few times. Also as an Arcanist I have had DOT status effect spells miss one time, and then hit the next time.

Just reaching my 40s I do have seen a spell miss here or there. I wouldn't worry to much about ACC until your level 50, and doing end dungeons though. Also once you do get there.. as people have said there is a certain requirement, once you have it just focus on your main stat or crits.

So intelligence is better than determination.

Intel > Det. There isn't enough gear with determination anyway. I think they added it in for extra umph.

It's basically as HEC said (minus the DEX part). Determination is your next best stat after your primary one. It's a good stat for every class, hence why Hydra has a debuff that cuts your determination (which results in poor damage for the dps and a healing disaster for healers)
