PvP video is pathetic

I'm not into pvp and almost in all mmorpgs I try it for a very short time and mostly ignore it afterwards.
But seeing "pvp" video in ARR makes me so sad it's almost funny, is that all SE has to show off? I mean this is a promo video and it looks hmm dissapointing.. you can't tell me anyone into pvp actually finds that video exciting or promising?

I think this is a good hint, they are not going to fix the delay issues, and that is the reason pvp will be like presented in the video, standing in spot and attacking each other.

A couple of friends saw the vid and told me they don't think they'll be getting into ffxiv anymore. PvP is the deal breaker for myself and believe SE can keep it balanced but if delay issues occur then I'm pretty much done.

I am into PvP and I find it promising because promo videos are rarely useful in measuring how the real thing will play out. Take the E3 trailer (found here-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vze5b9SaZwQ ), during the Garuda fight the entire party is standing clumped together and by the pillars! In reality, they would never do this because they'd share the damage from AoE attacks and destroy the pillars before phase 2...but it doesn't matter, its just a promo video Its there to look cool, not spell out the gritty details.

no trying to los or strafe, they can't showcase "ugly" ways to move because it won't be final fantasy!

PvP the deal breaker in a FF game? Well then you should've played something else to start with. It makes zero sense playing FF for PvP only.

The PvP videos rarely show real PvP because real PvP is either abusive or very boring and wouldn't impress anybody. That said I don't see how PvP could possibly work with the lag and the fact that you got a class that can do full ranged DPS while moving, as that's basically asking for disaster in a PvP environment.

If anything promo video should look better than the actual recorded gameplay, that leaves one guessing, how bad the actual gameplay will be like...
