Pvp starts winter 2013

Not sure how many noticed this exactly but at the end of the latest pvp trailer right at the end they come up with the line "Pvp starts in winter 2013". So ya....winter doesn't "officially" start until December 21st, so if they are going by the official starting date then that would mean they literally meant "by the end of the year" on the patch when it literally will be the end of the year.

Thoughts on this? I've said my case in many other threads and would like to see just how many others think they can hold off till the 21st or later to release this patch.

I played 1.0 for 2 years. I can wait a couple months for an update that has actual content. It also helps that I haven't completed all of the current content.

Not everyone is a rabid FF fan either, the only people who kept 1.0 alive were the fans who believed in the promise of a better game. That promise has come, but now there will end up being 4 months from launch till anything worth mentioning will even be added. Contrary to minority belief the majority of player who play this are infact not people who will follow a new mmo to the ends of the earth waiting for the promise of the continuation of that better game. Half of the content that is in this patch was said to have been complete at launch but it needed some fine tuning(4 months of fine tuning does not bode well for subsequent patches). The other half is the large amount of qol changes many mmos have in at launch, while the rest are actually new things however they are not large bits of content like the first half is.

Thanks for telling me you don't know the worldwide northern hemisphere start date for Winter, which infact is December 21st(not next month).

I don't care how long it takes. There is plenty to enjoy in the game from right now until then end of the year, and all I care about is them making PvP as good as possible and giving us a finished product.

hopefully the patch isn't just being held back to polish PVP.

I would hope the delay gives the developers more time to polish the housing system and the other promised content.

It's not that we wait over 3 years now for a game that has actual content that's interesting for more than 4 weeks.

Hell, Final Fantasy XII had more content than this.

You do know that when it comes to businesses(particularly the Games, Movie, and Publishing industries ) when they say "Winter" they don't mean the meteorological start of Winter but usually the period of mid November to mid February... right? That's why things like the "Fall" line up on TV starts around early September... Which is still technically summer

In fact in the US, "Winter" is business speak for "Day after thanksgiving" to Valentines Day

Actually Winter time in Sweden starts 25th-26th of October this year. So I guess it all depends on how you classify it.
