Just started the game with a new rig and would like some tips on getting best graphical output/performance. With goal of 50-60 fps what is the best settings I can handle?

    Quick specs:
    -Intel i5 2500k (not OC'd yet, goal is a stable 4.0ghz)
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 TI Maximum Graphics Edition 1gb (it is factory OC's to 900 - no plans to push that up)
-Currently 4gb 1300 ram but 4 more gigs being shipped for total of 8gb 1300
    -24inch ASUS LCD monitor 2ms 1920x1080

PS. Not too computer savvy so might need dumb-person speak if I need to 'force' things or load this or that third party program to get a specific setting.

    Thanks in advance!

Here are my settings Which give me 60FPS outside.

Display Mode: Full Screen... It does create some screen tearing. It's quite annoying but playing in windowed mode resolves this.

    Window Size:
    1680X1050

    Multisampling: 16xQ CSAA

General Drawing Quality: 8 (standard) I can set this to 9 no problem but i will drop to 45-50FPS... settings to 10 tho' will result in a 50% FPS drop and bring me to 25-30FPS. The last option is definitely not well optimised and it makes no sense to see such a big impact on performance simply by going from 9 to 10.

    Background Drawing Quality: 5 (high)

    Shadow Detail: Highest

    Graphics TAB

Ambient Occlusion: Off, Turning it on will result in a 50% drop in FPS just like putting general drawing quality to 10. I don't see any visual difference other then this weird black line across the screen, splitting the screen in two. One side in a permanent shadow and the other side bright. It is quite annoying.... a glitch perhaps?

    Depth of Field: On

    Disable cutscene effect: off (unchecked)

    Enable hardware mouse cursor: on

    Texture Quality: High

    Texture Filtering: Highest

    These are my system specs:

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @4.0GHZ
    MEMORY: 8GB 1600MHZ 7-8-7-20 NB @ 3000
VIDEO: Sapphire 6990 880Mhz core. Ati drivers 11.5
    HDD: 2X (2X500GB in RAID 0)
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    Hope this helps someone.
That's what I have but mine is on 1080p. Good to see your analysis of some of the bugged settings. lol.

    My specs:

    Apple iMac 27"

    ...

    what, still no comments? =D

    Intel Core i7 860 2.80GHz
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD4850

For anybody who runs a 27" iMac like me, well... forget about running the game at full native screen, because it's So Much Resources Overload! You can't keep your 40FPS straight even if you're looking at the ground (wait, maybe for that yes)

So, copying the template from Swordz, I'll give you some good settings:

Resolution: 1920x1080 (try 2560x1440 and prepare to fry eggs on your computer)
General Drawing Quality - 8 (Standard)
Background Drawing Quality - 5 (High)
Shadow Detail - High (because I like it more like that.)

    Abient Occlusion - off
    Depth of Field - off
Cutscene effects - on (I set it off just for more FPS when I'm on 2560x1440 for screenshots purpose)
    hardware mouse - on
    Texture Quality - High
    Texture Filtering - High

I've tested that when the rain comes, or when you encounter bushes, or when you encounter both and blow your head off, your performance will drop by 30-40%, and I'm still wondering why is that. I've also done things with Catalyst Control Center reducing some Anisotropic Filtering and enabling the Catalyst AI, but still nothing, so I guess it's the limitation of the Mobility Radeon.

Thats not a fair statement... You have an Imac with a mobility 4850 (which gives lower performance than a discrete 5770) and you are running the game on 1920x1080....
You're pushing the limits as it is...
I know Crystal tools has it's flaws.... but yea... the ATI mobility cards are actually great... but everything has it's limit...

My Discrete 5870 does 1920x1080 flawlessly... Max settings and AA, no AO, and resolution frame buffer (GDQ=8)

The CPU is only a Phenom II 965 at 3.8
But I take good care of her and she always performs for daddy....
I just bought a 990FX AM3+ Mobo from Gigabyte and I am waiting on the Bulldozer CPUs before I upgrade her brain....

Native resolution of a 27" is 2560x1440. So if you get 30-40FPS in 1080p you'll get around 20FPS in 1440p.
Playing games like League of Legends, Eden Eternal, Beat Hazard and those little things at 1440p is no problem (Even Minecraft. YOU SEE PIXELZ!), but when you play things like Crysis, Duke Nukem Forever or any of the "new-gen" games, then you're gonna get a drop in FPS.

That's why I've considered buying a 21-24" monitor, so I could play games at its native resolution with full FPS. Anyway, working on a 27" is f*cking great!

Ninja-EDIT: Anyway, I remember they've released a new generation of iMac with an HD5770, so if you get the new iMac maybe there's no problem in native resolutions.

They have the Mobility 6970 now... which should be pretty darn good....
2k is actually not a bad deal... You can just save a ton of money and PC build, going with a 24" screen (And a discrete 6970) and come out WAY ahead.... but to each his own
