Good guys... riiight... tell that to
all the Scions Livia and her troops slaughtered in cold blood inside the Waking Sands simply in pursuit of the player - her own troops were clearly shown brutally butchering the victims, and Livia herself showed a real sadistic streak, shooting dead an already defeated Scion in the back, and saying she couldn't wait "to hear her scream" when she interrogates Minfilia.

This isn't a case of just 'two sides holding opposing views' - the fact is the Empire is evil, they're hellbent on conquest, and had no qualms about wiping Eorzea and everyone in it off the map completely with Dalamud. There's just sadly too many people in denial about this.

That really got me thinking Anonymoose. I'd have to imagine that new City-States would be implemented through expansions, but which ones would be added? I was trying to think of a good reason to add either of these other than story and I looked at it in terms of classes/jobs that arguably could be added by the same means. Which would bring more of an opportunity to add one or two classes/jobs, admittedly I've forgotten much about Ala Mhigo/Gyr Abania in this regards culture other than Monks which are already in game. But when it comes to Ishgard/Dravania, Ishgard more in particular they are very religious and have a sort of knighthood. Something in terms of Templars or even Dark Knights could roll out of this scheme. And to expand, Sharlayan, which falls in dragon lands (Ishgard hates dragons), would be very capable of incorporating a new mage type.

I think that the story will expand into the Little Almigho (spelling) and us going back to push the invasion back and return the refugees back to their homeland. This was kind of hinted at in the story-line. While they could open Ishgard, I think this would be opened maybe right before the release (relatively speaking) that will lead into the xpac. Though I could see thief being released with the whole idea of a counter insurgent culture in occupied territory, sniper/musketeer works too with the idea of Garlean resistance. Then with the opening of Ishgard, access to the DRK class/job. Maybe the lore behind the DRK will be that there are a specialized group of warriors that must be distinguished enough to be invited to the ranks. It just seems Ishgard should be more of an xpac vs a simple content update

    Can't Wait! More jobs please!

It's been a while since the last post, lots have happened since last year. I'm loving it so far! Exciting new 2.2 update coming up! On that note, I decided to add some possible ideas that I've been pondering about.
Picture this, new dark land to explore, new missions, characters, and dark class! Introduce a Thief/Blades class which then feeds into new jobs, Sniper/Gun(THF/ARC)-range dps, Ninja/Duel Kodachi(THF/PUG)-melee dps, Samurai/Katana(THF/GLD)-tank, Dancer/Whip(THF/CON)-support dps, Time Mage/Orb(THF/THM)-Heal/dps, maybe even an Engineer/Hammer(THF/MAR)-dps/machine summon... again, this is just my imagination running wild...
What do you guys think? I definitely would like to see at least 1 more job in each category...

I know EVERYONE is so gung ho on the Thief Idea.... I don't get it. Ever since Locke in FF6 Thief is a stupid job. It was cool in FFXI as a positional melee, but we already have two of those.... The most redeeming trait of the Thief class is the ability to sneak/mug/steal.... but gil is meaningless in XIV so again.... pointless.

    Real jobs please!!

I'd love for there to be a necromancer type class derived from acn.

It seems appropriate due to the poisonous nature of thier attacks

I've wished that before, as well, to just be able to open your journal and go to the quest you want in the COMPLETED tab and hit like, "Reflag as Free Play," lol. All the dialogue, cutscenes, and battles as if it was the first time. Probably way too much work for them to set up, even for the player time sink. Doomed to relive via YouTube!

As a not-so-closeted romantic I'd really like to see the Gladiator quest line picked back up. I feel very "left hanging" when it comes to Mylla and Aldis's story. Not to mention (he mentions) dear K'hylia and her vagabond Guildmaster; and just for the pure noble heck of it all, more encounters with the Wandering Paladin, Solkzagyl...

To be honest, I was actually quite disappointed with how the class quests were handled in ARR compared to 1.0 - especially the GLA quests. In 1.0 the GLA class quests actually dealt with the player not only fighting NPC challengers in the Colleseum (yes, actually in the arena!), the story dealt with the ongoing contempt and resentment the Ala Mhigan refugee population face from the Ul'dahns, how they fight in the Colleseum to not only salvage some form of pride in themselves, to also raise money to assist in their fellow countrymen in escaping from Garlean oppression, to assist them in settling in Eorzea's citystates, and to even help fund the ongoing Resistance. As well, the game also used the Echo to uncover information needed in the quest by viewing the memories of npcs involved. I actually felt like my character really was a GLA after completing that quest line.

The ARR GLA quests however, I was disappointed to see that not only was the original GLA Guildmaster replaced (the Guildmaster in 1.0 was a lalafell named Yoyobina, and no explanation at all is given as to what happened to him or why he's been replaced by a Highlander girl), the whole storyline simply revolved around a grudge between two GLAs who I had never even heard of. Plus GLAs seemed to be depicted not as prize fighters in the Colleseum, but as some kind of ad-hoc police force. The whole questline just seemed stupid to me. I don't know, maybe if I hadn't done the original 1.0 GLA class quests it would have been better, but as it stands, it just seemed a letdown to me. But ah well.
