    What's Next? Story/Level/Class?

Main story completed, AWESOME! And there's still a lot to do, but I notice that the HCs are almost done maxing out all classes. IMO, the story was left open ended, so what next?

Picture this... a NEW continent, main town, added race, and new jobs: Thief(Blade), Gunner(Gun), Beast Master(Whip), Farming(Food/Animal). Leading to adv jobs: Ninja(Duel Weld/Throw), Samurai(Blade/Katana), Cannoneer(Big Gun), Blue Mage(Whips/Beast Arts). Potential master jobs: Dark Knight, Holy Dragoon, Defender, Assassin, Seer, Sage, Illusionist? New lands, missions, dungeons, enemies, bosses, weapons, loots, relics, minions, added story, level cap increase + HRS of game play!

There's so much more Square can add to the world of EORZA, why wouldn't they? Would you purchase an in-game add if the options above were available? Would you subscribe for a longer period of time, with more incentive items? Given XIV:ARR is still young, and already so EPIC, I know I would! What do you guys think?

Again, this is all my imagination running wild... no rumors!

Well I remember reading about Ishgard opening up at some point. So hopefully a good amount lore follows for that.

Would love to finally explore Ishgard at some point, been hoping to ever since I saw it in 1.0.

Hoping to see more lore come to light on the Garleans. How did they become how they are? Is there a darker intent behind the invasion or is it invasions just to take.

Less primals, more Garleans imo XD.

Sapphic, the main FFXIV website goes into a bit of detail about the history of the Garlean Empire, and actually how they're connected to the Primals: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/wor...hreats/content

But with the arrival of a technological golden age and the concurrent emergence of a brilliant young legatus—now the reigning emperor—in the span of a single generation Garlemald established itself as one of the most formidable forces in all of Hydaelyn.

Garlemald is unsurpassed in the field of magitek, a technology which it exploits with devastating effectiveness in warfare. Unperturbed by their lesser numbers, the Garleans went forth upon gigantic flying warships, bearing powerful weaponry the likes of which the world had never seen. One nation after the next fell before their relentless onslaught, first those of the northlands, followed by the sovereign states of the eastern continent, Othard. Employing suppression and conciliation in equal measure, Garlemald indoctrinated the peoples it conquered, thus integrating them into its ever-expanding territory. So it was that the Garlean Empire came into existence.

In the year 1557 of the Sixth Astral Era, a mere thirty-six years from the Empire's founding, the Garleans brought their campaign of conquest to Eorzea, swiftly bringing the city-state of Ala Mhigo to its knees. Yet following the subjugation of Ala Mhigo, the Empire suddenly ceased its aggressive expansion.

For more than a decade, the continent of Aldenard knew relative peace. In the year 1572, however, the Garlean army once again began its inexorable advance. Using the calamitous arrival of the Seventh Umbral Era to sinister advantage, the Empire prepares to gather the lands of Eorzea into its steely embrace...

Born of distinguished lineage in the Garlemald Republic, Solus zos Galvus began his military career at a young age. After a string of impressive victories on the field of battle, however, he soon attained the rank of Legatus, and proceeded to integrate machina technology into the army's regular rank and file. With single-minded determination, Galvus transformed his fledgling nation into a formidable military power.
His actions garnered the undivided support of the citizenry, and catapulted him into the position of Dictator, supreme commander of Garlemald. In the years that followed, Garlean forces conquered all the lands of the north and hammered them into a single entity. Galvus then instituted an imperial regime to govern their new territories, conferring upon himself the title of "Emperor."
The eastern nations were the first to feel the newborn empire's mighty fist. It was during this campaign that the emperor witnessed firsthand the destruction wrought by the primals—an experience that led to an imperial mandate for their annihilation.
Now an old man of more than eighty winters, Galvus yet rules as emperor, but court rumors speak of frail health and frequent illness.
So yeah, the Empire's backstory is easily found, but I agree I'd like the narrative to take more of an interest in what even 1.0's original storyline was leading up to be the main antagonists for the game.

As much as new continent would be great, there's still much left to be explored within Eorzea.

I'd like access to Ishgard, to liberate Ala Mhigo, and uncover more about the Circle of Knowing in Sharlayan.
Of course, I'd like to infiltrate the Empire as well.
Not necessarily to fight them on their own turf, but certainly to recon or acquire their Gunblades.

There's a lot to do yet within the known world. There isn't a reason to extend beyond it, yet.

Sweet! Yes, I agree! What I meant with the advanced/master classes were... unlocking them the same way we do now, just with more classes as a requirement. I was limited to 1000 words when I posted, and had to cut half my description. Thinking about it more, it's probably best to keep level cap at 50 for now and add more classes! I get so excited when I think of all the possibilities!

I still thinkt he Garleans are the good guys. I really dig their nietzschean denial of teh authority of gods--just primals for the adventurer races-- and would love to fight and kill them.

Want a chance to change sides.

Such expansions are very rare and considering the alliance struck between Gaius and Lahabrea, one does wonder...

I suspect Garlemald's rapid expansion was initiated and supported by the Ascians. It is a part of their plan to awake their God. If so, it is only natural that we visit the territories the Empire conquered and their homeland.

Although, if this is true, I do have to wonder if the Ascians have ever tried to steer history's course before. Maybe they had a hand in all those great civilizations and cataclysms.

In the same vein as "there's more to do in Eorzea," if you look at the map, it's broken down into several regions. Five of the seven are currently available, and Coerthas has not yet to open it's city-state. Mor Dhona and Coerthas seem to be massive "central" zones, whereas the other regions have multiple zones with city anchors.

I imagine that the first thing SE will do after getting all of that squared away is open Dravania (home to the abandoned city-state of Sharlayan and under the control of a horde of angry dragons) or Gyr Abania (home to the city-state of Ala Mhigo and currently under the control of Garlemald).

With Gaius dead(?), Ala Mhigo is down a Viceroy, so I imagine now would be a good time to take back our city-state and kick them the hell off our continent... but then again, Ishgard looks stretched to the brink of collapse, maybe it would be more prudent to push back the dragons and refortify the front lines while Ala Mhigo reorganizes...

    Decisions, decisions...
