If you join a Crowded World, does that mean longer login queues?

Hi, a friend and I are contemplating which server to transfer to, and we figured we wanted a Crowded world so we can meet more people, have access to faster DFs, and possibly start our own FC. However, does this mean we'll have trouble with login queues, and worst case scenario more server lag?

Now with the Implemented Auto-Logout, I would say that there is very little to 0 login queues. Unless you are trying to get in during Prime times in which there would most probably be some. But it doesnt usually last very long

Well, I'd say yes, yes you will. I'm on Balmung and it's rare for me not to be put in a queue. And it's not considered over-crowded enough to block new character creation. Yet.

I get a queue fairly regularly on Sargatnas, but the highest queue I've had since the additional servers was 18 and it's never even a minute before I'm in the world.

There's usually a queue when I log in to Hyperion, but it's generally no more than some number in the teens and it plops me into the game within 20 seconds.

The lack of login queues has nearly zero to do with auto logout- especially considering all you ahve to do is talk to your retainer or start crafting and you can't get logged out. The "feature" literally just types /logout for you after 30 minutes of no input. If you're occupied, it says "unable to logout while occupied."

The real reason the queues are gone is because they fixed the servers. Queues and 1017s disappeared well before the auto logout was implemented.

Hyperion is pretty much the most crowded world right now- there are occasionally short login queues (especially since the hotfix patch since the 90k errors mean people are logging in more frequently) around peak times but never 1017 errors.

Hmm well i do see your point but after implementing the auto logout function, my server barely has anymore queues. Most i have seen it gone up to was 69 in which i was ingame in a couple of minutes.

As I said- the queues/errors went away well before the feature was put in. Correlation does not imply causation.

Thanks for the info, last question if anyone reads this, what are currently the most populated Non-Legacy servers?

I read so far they were Cactuar, Behemoth and Leviathan. Can anyone confirm these three are the top most populated?

Yes, there are almost always 3-6 people in cue for Gilgamesh.
