Couple of questions...

You need to manage your MP/TP yourself. However, a Bard can restore MP and TP by singing at the cost of lowered damage. (If you are having TP issues, then keep leveling Archer as you will unlock Bard later on. If you are not a Bard, you'll need to ask another Bard in your party to sing)

Im not too familiar with how bard songs work on bards but I do completely agree with managing mp and tp, it helps to not use it all up too fast and manage your dps wisely especially as an archer because they are apparently the highest dps class in the game currently.

Though managing tp or mp is important for any dps class and even a healer seeing we can sometimes get hate if we overcure a tons before tank has hate set in.. >.>;;

Bard's sing by "casting" for 3 seconds, then after that everyone gets a buff from the song if they are close enough to the Bard.(with the exception of Mage's Ballad, the Bard does not get the MP increase because singing depletes MP for the Bard. And Foe Requiem, which is a debuff for enemies that lowers magic defense). Whilst the buffs are on, Bard's damage is decreased by 20%. The debuff however doesn't decrease damage, so it's beneficial with a party with BLM's or SMN's.

Bard's DPS is high because they can attack consistently, but a skilled MNK has better damage.
