    Couple of questions...

    Hey,

I have a few questions about FFXIV ARR that I'm unsure about. If anyone could answer these it would be a huge help to me! Thanks!

Is there a way to maintain your MP and TP during battle? I often find myself mid-battle during Fates with 0 MP and having to cast a spell every few seconds. I know you can use potions, but they don't seem to last long enough for me.

How do you get a house? What are the costs and also what are the benefits to owning a house? I heard a little about them and am interested to hear more about purchasing one and what they provide in terms of functionality.

What's the quickest way to level up? I'm about level 15 and I'm unable to continue with guild or story quests because they require me to level up, so I need to level up fast. I've been doing Fates and Guildleve's, but is there faster ways?

    Continued...

When should I start learning to craft etc.? -At the moment I have a level 15 ranger with a subclass of a level 12 Healer, but I heard about crafting etc and wanted to know whether I should learn them now, or later? Also what are the benefits from crafting etc...?

What else is there to do in FFXIV ARR? At the moment I've done side quests, story quests, Guildleve's, Guild quests, general combat and Fates. I heard there were Dungeons, etc but I don't know much more than that. Any help on this would be ace!

If anyone could answer these it would be a huge help to me. Many thanks!

I'm not sure about MP, but I have enough TP that I never seem to run out, unless I was raised. I don't think houses are available yet, they may only offer Free Company (FC) housing to start. Quickest way to level is prob fates, shout for a party you'll get more exp than doing them solo. I waited till lv. 50 to start crafting. It's best to lvl them all together to at least lv 20 because they start becoming interdependent at lv 16-20. Save you're leves for crafting if you plan on doing any crafting. Pick up mining and Botany first though and lvl them. You can make money selling stuff you gather if you need a break from the game.

Well i am pretty much working every class but my main one is a Gladiator/Paladin.
The Gladiator has an ability to regenerate some TP so i would imagine same would go for Mages with MP.
Crafting is not a must but a nice addition as later on in the game you can have the ability to add (slot) items in some armour and weapons which are either stat boosts, etc.
So perhaps i would suggest to begin crafting from the start as it takes time to level up.
As for housing it is to become available in the next big update however i believe it will only be company housing so you would need to be part of a Free Company.
I know our group is currently stashing away gil for this purpose

As for leveling up. Have you tried using your hunting log? It give really good exp for killing just a few mobs. Doing fates in a party give more exp then solo as well.

You can start a craft at any level. But I recommend you wait until level 50. By then you will have a good about gil saved up. That's if you take the allagan pieces instead of gear you don't need. You can also take up a gathering of some sort (mining, botanist).

There is endgame content. Dungeons, primes, raids, etc.

Q1: says your main class is an Archer. you shouldn't use any MP unless yorui playing songs, which you wont get until your a bard. TP will be your only drain.

Q2: Houses are not being released until the big Patch later this year. info on that will then be given out.

Q3: quickest way to lvl. Main scenario quests/FATES/side quests. Especially prior to lvl 35...atleast IMO - I didn't join a FATE group until lvl49. didn't see the need...unless you want to rush to lvl50. still only took me 3-4 weeks of playing to get lvl50 - and I still have a 9-5 job.

Q4: learn crafting when you want...that's what I did. really didn't get into it until I was lvl50 on my main.

Q5: lots of Dungeons, hunting log, etc. pretty much everything you mentioned. a lot of the fun stuff comes after the end games quests. play around with different classes/crafting etc. plsu more will be added in upcoming patches

other than that, have fun and make friends. join a guild.

Free Company housing is coming out later this year, and personal housing sometime after that.

Crafting: If you're going to get into crafting, it's a good idea to begin it relatively early, so you can make your own gear as you level up. Besides which, it takes a lot of time to level crafting, and is more fun if you're alternating it with leveling your adventuring classes rather than just doing one or the other continuously for that long. I do, however, suggest waiting until you complete the main storyline quest Scions of the Seventh Dawn, which unlocks the use of retainers, before getting too deeply into crafting. (It's ostensibly level 17, but most people seem to be a bit above that before getting to it.) You can begin the crafting classes and do a little with them before that, but if you try doing a lot, you're going to have problems with running out of inventory space. Once you have retainers to hold your excess ingredients and sell any extra stuff you make that you don't want yourself, that's when you can start focusing more energy into crafting.

Is there a way to maintain your MP and TP during battle? Most mages have a skill at some point that helps them refresh their mp even by a little and... though there isn't always one in parties, bards can also help regain mp back. As for TP I'd suggest eventually trying to cross over Lancer's Invigorate skill which is gained at lvl 22 to archer/bard which recovers 300 tp and cooldowns for 180s, aside from that I don't really know of any tp pots or anything. @-@

How do you get a house? What are the costs and also what are the benefits to owning a house? Not much is known about this but apparently there will be gardening, player selling and decorating going on in the housing area, I heard there will also be personal and fc housing but the price is currently unknown. (Im also pretty excited for it!)

What's the quickest way to level up? As some people said, hunters log would be a very good thing to catch up on and some fate spots are more preferred than others I've heard so... I would suggest doing Aleport fate partying which is in limsa if you can get there, at 15 I think players are given airship pass so... its basically located in limsa. ^^ (Overall the best way is the storyline for a player whose just starting out though.) Oh and just a warning the story will jump in levels around... 38ish so fating is recommended at that point.

When should I start learning to craft etc.?
Crafting is pretty good to catch up on though its kinda hard near the 30s / 40s of it if you go pure crafting with no leves done... so I'd suggest doing it with leves if you choose to. I don't think theres a level for which... one can or can't craft though it can break a pocket but it also makes money if you know how to use the marketplace well, It can also make your relic weapon (The awesome bard harp/bow wep bard has in the artwork) if you level the right craft high enough though you can only get those after getting the mats and beating each primal in hard mode.

What else is there to do in FFXIV ARR?
    basically what you listed, dungeons (Some can be pretty fun when you're just learning with a patient or new party.) mmm... Boss / Primal fights in normal and hard mode theres coil...... which is apparently a hardcore end-game dungeon with a bunch of floors (I've never been myself personally) Gathering, Crafting, Fishing... and apparently more is to come but thats all I know of for now... ^-^;;

Continue with your main storyline quest (The fiery quest symbols). You should have unlocked 1 of 3 level 15 dungeons already if you have been following it.

You need to manage your MP/TP yourself. However, a Bard can restore MP and TP by singing at the cost of lowered damage. (If you are having TP issues, then keep leveling Archer as you will unlock Bard later on. If you are not a Bard, you'll need to ask another Bard in your party to sing)
