    Fracture is significantly more valuable than ID for the scenario of "hitting your TP for more DPS". I would only recommend using FR, not ID. But in the end this is specific to peoples' playstyle and personal bias.

    Um, it increases the damage of buttons by 20%. E.g. non-autoattacks.

    Personally I see this as the ham-fisted adjustment for having a lower WD for Bards. The cell in my spreadsheet that has the 20% modifier value is actually labelled "stupid:".

    So maybe a nerf is not necessitated. Unless of course, the Increase Skill Damage is literally just a stacked 20% buff, in which case, wow, BRDs need a nerf =P
    That or the sim could use more review/scrubbing. Or you're over-estimating at a glance because the WD delta is pretty significant.

    Sidenote: For general reference, my model has Bard ability PPS at roughly 4% higher than Monk or Dragoon ability PPS (no autoattacks).

    GL3 should not be applying haste for autoattacks (probably). But the damage, yes.

    Who knows, it may actually affect it ... that's actually not hard to test ... just need to do it ... ... ...

    Hey panda, just a couple things I've noticed. First and easiest some basic Dragoon stuff. The second Life Surge in the Dragoon rotation isn't applied to the following Full Thrust, dunno why, here's the lines:

    Also Blood for Blood comes up right as the second Life Surge cools, but your rotation doesn't use it right away. Actually, it is worth it to pop both BFB and LS in the same oGCD to get the Full Thrust crit on BFB, so the 2nd BFB should be popped with the 2nd Life Surge despite the slight loss to the 2nd oGCD animation. I can't speak to the Monk rotation, so I'm not sure if anything is off there.

    Secondly, I've been getting some odd numbers with the rotations. The Dragoon rotation uses 38 GCD abilities, so that's 93.1s if you're using the same 2.45 GCD you mentioned earlier. The Monk rotation uses 43, but I discounted the final Demolish since it does no damage, so 42 at 2s each (I'm going to forget the additional few point seconds from the first couple abilities that don't have GL3) for an 84s duration.

    Over 93.1s the Dragoon rotation deals 15737.22 potency, so 169 p/s, and the Monk rotation does 13370.31 potency over 82s, so 159 p/s. This doesn't seem to match the % difference discussed above.

    To preface the next bit, I've discounted the guaranteed crits from Life Surge and Bootshine in the following numbers. Dragoons crit 7/37 GCD abilities (minus 1 Life Surge) and 18/62 DoTs, which is 19% and 29% respectively. That's quite a discrepancy between DoT crits and regular crits. Similarly for Monks they crit 3/30 damaging GCD abilities (42 GCDs minus 7 applications of Demo/ToD and 5 Bootshine) and 18/47 DoTs for 10% and 43% respectively. Again, quite a difference between the main and DoT crit percentages. I imagine a slight difference is caused by the snapshot method of DoT application with IR, particularly with long duration DoTs, but that shouldn't factor in almost at all for Dragoons, and the difference for Monks is much larger than should be accounted for by snapshots.

    I know you only ran these rotations for 90s each, so I was wondering if you could take a closer look at the numbers and see what is going on.

    Having exceptions for every human intuition is really difficult lol.

    The sims were actually run for the full 12 minutes, I just only outputted the first 90 seconds because otherwise the output is insanely long. Let me rig up the parser to it to output some more metrics for you, it likely will even out.

    The reason there are are so many DoT crits will likely be snapshotting. Esp for ToD, it lasts 30 seconds and will generally have IR up for 2 out of 3 applications. It goes to show that especially in a limited frame (90 seconds is 5 18 sec applications, 3 30 sec ones) snapshotting is very important.

    I'm fairly confident in the crit code.

    The LSURGE thing I will look at and hopefully fix.

    Fixed a problem with LSURGE being consumed when DoT snapshotting occurs (specifically, since it copies buffs from its parent attack, LSURGE was consumed when recalculating crit for parent attack, rather than for current DoT tick which does not consume LSURGE). Also possibly the problem with why DoTs are snapshotting weird. Should be...should be working now.

    Yes, autoattack damage is currently normalized to 100 potency every 3 seconds.

    Once i rebuild the engine (by next week, hopefully) to allow player setups, it will actually be based on stats and weapon speed, but for now Easy tells me that while the DET rating scaling for autoattacks is different than normal, 100 potency every 3 is roughly correct.

    Either way I -think- it matches pretty well with parser data, that autoattacks should dominate everyone's damage.

    Just if anyone is curious, here are the crit codes for the two classes, if something is handled incorrectly.

    The ternary statement (ir ? 2000 : 0) means that if ir is true (aka we have IR buff), then add 2000 (20%) to crit chance, otherwise, add 0.

    Have you considered using the tool to generate rotations through machine learning techniques such as Markov Decision Processes (MDP) or Reinforcement Learning (RL). I think it'd be neat to see how the app fairs at creating rotations vs say a theory crafter.

    Nope, because I haven't really given too much thought on the rotations themselves at all.

    One problem with machine learning is it is hard to determine a value of a state, and it is also hard to "expose" all the variables to the rotation engine.

    For example, the sim will tell you that HT has been applied, but there is no inherent "value" to HT to assign, because humans know implicitly that HT gives 10% more damage, but the machine will just know that HT flag has been set, and would have to do iterations of attacks to figure out the hidden value assigned.

    In one way, this is a very interesting take on it, because it doesn't come with the prejudices that humans have. It might lead to unorthodox rotations that are somehow superior.

    You are welcome to write something like that yourself though!
