    Scholar - Crafting?

    So, I'm a 50 Scholar who is starting to collect Darklight gear. I'd like to take up crafting, and I'd like to level a crafting skill will benefit me as a Scholar - either to make gear I can use, or a weapon. I have leveled Alchemy up to 15, but I'm worried if I'll see any actual benefits from this. Should I do Weaving instead? Will either be very useful to my Scholaring? What do you really get out of it, or am I thinking of it all the wrong way?

    It's a two-step process:

    1) What crafted items do you wish your SCH had?
    2) Choose the craft that makes more of those items than any other craft.

    Well, I guess I haven't really looked at the stats of crafted items versus the stats on items I'll get from running dungeons. Is crafted gear better than Darklight gear? Similarly, if I spend a month leveling Alchemist up to 50, will I stop using my crafted weapon as soon as I clear hardmode Ifrit and get an ifrit weapon?

    Weaver will probably be better for you in the long run. HQ Vanya with melds beats out Darklight. However, due to recent patch, the vanya pants cost way too much to make so you can use Darklight on that one. If you can clear Titan HM, you'll get Relic book Omnilex and that'll beat anything Alchemist can craft. Although, you'll need someone with access to Alchemist or buy from the market the book to do relic quest, Erudite's Picatrix of Healing. HQ melded Deux Ex Gratia is probably better than primal weapons but I don't have it.

    For a Scholar, you'll want Weaver for your robes, hats and leggings. You'll want Alchemy for your books. You'll want Goldsmithing for your accessories, glasses and such. You'll want Leathercrafting for your belt, some shoes, some hats, some accessories. You'll want Carpentry for some shoes and can make staves for when you level Thauramage to 26 for Swiftcast and Conjurer to 34 for Stoneskin.

    Course leveling crafts also requires stuff and their tools typically require you to level Blacksmith and Armorer aside from what I've already listed. ^.^;
