What level can I start new post in General Discussion?

The dumbest and most unfair forum policy I have ever seen. We pay good money to play this game. Can we at least be allowed to exchange our opinions in the forums that matter? Sure SE with our subs money can afford a moderator or two.

Great. Apparently we can freely post in here, but if we post before posting in the more specific forums it eats up the new thread/new posts allowance. Hopefully that is a bug, but I am not allowed today to open a forum bug report either.

well, with this one im with SE.. they might be too much, but they have reason. after all we have a thread here title "looking for female jp friends" .. no that the higher the lvl warranty that those would poss less troll and / or multiple thread about the same or bump cont.. but at least is less likely that smn that pay and follow the game faithfully would waste forum in that..

I was going to post an useful link to a guy whom asked a question. I couldn't. How can this be an good thing? It kills the forum. Every forum has few spammers but that's what the report button is for. And then it is tied to the FF XIV account. I'm sure not too many people would take the chance to see their account banned.

The limitiations are simply stupid - the main forums are basically deserted as majority of the people are unable to post there most of the time. "Good" job SE in keeping the forums clean!

Exactly - you can't even access the forums or post here unless you have the active characters and indeed pay for the sub - this is just weak attempt to replace proper forum moderation with stupid restrictions. What's worse that posts in the non-restricted areas still counts to your daily limits so if you post here first you're unable to post at all in restricted areas afterwards. "Great" design ...

wow this is retarded... i can only post 1 post/day in gen. forums. are they gauging character's lvl or account's posts to give more posting power

It is very unpleasant, especially if you are the kind of person who enjoys using forums to discuss games. I suppose they want to avoid spam threads, which are always a danger, especially since they plan on releasing PvP and PvP usually gets a lot of groundless whine threads in other games. Stuff practically along the lines of "boohoo I can't play my class so nerf some other class pls".

But I agree that it would be preferable if they invested resources into moderating the forums rather than applied limits to how much you can post per day.
