    So there are now ZONE queues as well as SERVER queues

    Er, so now even after battling to login into a server you may also not be able to play due to too many players in a zone.

    We've gone backwards from launch. Back then once you managed to get in-game your battle with queues was over (well, till you needed DF), now your battle has only just begun.

    Expect to be unable to get to zones with popular FATEs due to max. players already being there.

    This is progress?

    Popular FATEs being Odin and Behemoth specifically as those are the only two that are known to have caused server issues.

    You'll actually find this was a popular request, to reduce Fate lag on the PC and resolve cases where the PS3 would not render Svarna and other high level fates.

    In this instance, I would have gone for zone layering over zone lock-outs. It's absurd to tell people they can't go into an area of the game because too many people are already there, in essence you're locking out content except for the people who were lucky enough to get there first. What if I need to go to an area for a story quest? What if every time for a week I try to go to that area, but the only times I can play are during peak when that area is already full up? Now I can't progress story, I can't do things like open up the airship... get my chocobo... open up instance dungeons, etc. This is not a solution to the problem, it's a quick-fix and I hope it doesn't stay.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think this is their final solution, this is just a temporary fix until they come up with something better....I hope anyway, because it is a really silly fix if it's permanent.

    Server queues are useful and good. Or do you want servers closed instead? And there is no zone queue lol you get closed out of it as long the the max is reached in that zone.

    The real problem with lockouts is where it's going to cause them... sure, the high FATE areas along with Odin and Behemoth are going to get locked up, but during prime hours also expect not to be able to get into Ul'dah - The steps of Thal, Old Gridania and the whole of Limna Lomnisa due to the heavy volume of crafters at their guild, the summoning bells and the market boards.

    That sounds terrible, I have a high end gaming rig and rarely suffered disconnection or rendering problems on heavily populated FATEs. Since I paid more for my video card alone than a PS3, I demand that these queues get removed at once.

    I'll quit, or be very angry, but I'm not sure which yet. I may even make a forum post about how upset I am.
