So, FFXI had well known "PS2 limitations" holding it back and now FFXIV has "PS3 limitations" doing the same?
Really?
Over a month and this game still suffering with log in, disconnect problem and SE tried to fix shit but look like they are create more problems instead fixing the old one. I'm playing this game because guild mates asked me to try it...I'm probably cancel this stupid game because all the down time and it's not worth to paying sub for this junk.
Did you bother to find out at what point the queue kicks in before? The queue could kick in at a perfectly reasonable amount and only be an issue on Odin/Behemoth.Er, so now even after battling to login into a server you may also not be able to play due to too many players in a zone.
We've gone backwards from launch. Back then once you managed to get in-game your battle with queues was over (well, till you needed DF), now your battle has only just begun.
Expect to be unable to get to zones with popular FATEs due to max. players already being there.
This is progress?
What down time? I'm super cereal, guys.
With the exception of the 1017 error, today was the first time I encountered downtime - and that was maintenance. And I'm running the game on PS3, where we still have 8 bit graphics and cassette recorders.
These threads are so dramatic - we've apparently yet to come to a conclusion over what the population cap actually is and when it comes into force, and yet we've all thrown our toys out of the pram and quit the game.

Says the 50 BLM, 49/50 DRG, 31 ACN. Game must be junk, considering you leveled 2 50's.Over a month and this game still suffering with log in, disconnect problem and SE tried to fix shit but look like they are create more problems instead fixing the old one. So they've gone with some cheap version of GW2 overflows, without an actual overflow version of the zones? And this is a sub based game and not a B2P game. Well if I encounter it alot I will most likely ditch XIV, since I'm not prepared to pay for something each month and have more limitations than a F2P game would have. I just hope it's a temporary "fix" and they'll add proper fix i.e an overflow system that is x-server for the DF cluster, with it's own events and such like GW2 has. Since that system works pretty well and it will allow people to continue on their storylines when needed, without ending up in a queue for the zone they try to enter.
Poor fix on SE part imo.
Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day.

Has anyone actually encountered zone queues at all her? I know I sure as hell haven't.
Greetings all,
We appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns regarding queue times. However, the technical support forums are designated for players to assist other players with technical issues they are experiencing. Since this is not a technical issue I will be closing this particular thread. We welcome you to start a discussion on server/zone queues in a more appropriate section of the forums. Thank you!
