    Pop cap

    - A maximum limit has been placed on the number of players who can be in one area.
    * If you attempt to move into an area which has already reached its maximum limit, you will receive a message saying you cannot enter that area. Should this happen, please wait awhile and try again.

    Thoughts? Will this affect whole zone or just a small part of it?

    If the whole zone, expect big trouble entering Coerthas...

    I doubt there is a way to code in areas of the zone to have population caps. I'm sure it means the entire zone. It's a lazy fix imo.

    No. They do not - not if they're using servers that aren't toasters run by ailing hamsters. This is 2013. This kind of thing is unacceptable.

    I understand why they need to manage populations. What you don't seem to get is that there is a far better solution already out there: channels for zones.

    Also, we already have a hard cap for world population. That is why we get a queue upon logging in.

    This will kill any large, organized events on a server. It's not going only come up when Odin and Behemoth pop - and even if it did, that would not be okay. There is no reason, none at all, for them to lock players out of zones when they could have just done as any other reasonable MMO does and implement zone channels.

    Ugh, I hope enough people complain and they do away with this. Now instead of people complaining about Odin/Behemoth phasing out it will be people complaining about not even getting a chance to fight Odin/Behemoth or being unable to enter the zone for a quest or getting dismounted from chocobo porter early because the route passes through a capped zone.

    The problem will be like if you logged off at Coerthas, and try to come back in...and probably can't because of the limit? I wonder how many times do I have to try though.

    I'm thinking of EVE Online and the Jita cluster lock. If Jita is at 2200 they won't let you log in there but they do offer surrounding systems. In EVE I liked the system. I would log out in Jita with an Industrial full of high priced junk so I didn't have to deal with the scan brigade at undock.

    Here? You are number 38 in queue. For the duration of the Odin fight. I don't expect them to offer home or favored destination teleports on login.

    it's kinda ridiculous really
    newbies won't be able to get out of gridania when Odin spawns lol

    a worthless fix which will just infuriate people now we will see people in main cities shouting for things and being silenced by the Gil seller spam that has yet to be fixed
